The best at the sexy dress: Gucci, Cavalli, Versace ?

^I agree. When you have to qualify sexy with something like brainy or intellectual, it automatically suggests a sub-category or some sort of 'alternative' form of sexy. And I'm not saying there's something wrong if you prefer that type of sexy (I think I do too) but when one thinks sexy, 99.9% of the time it's a dress that was posted in the first post, not one of Prada's creations.

As for the topic of this thread, I think it's telling that all of the dresses posted as representative of those brands are at least 5 or so years old. All three of the brands seem to have evolved or moved on from that image, unfortunately. Whether it's because of the client wanting something else these days or if it's just because the designers are just wanting to take the brands in a new direction, for some reason "obvious sexy" is not high fashion at the moment. Now that I got to thinking, I couldn't even tell you what is the 'sexy' brand of today. Dolce has been doing same Sicilian thing for two years now. Valentino's clients are 12 year olds it seems. Balmain is doing that over the top sexy but it's more separates than dresses. Perhaps Pucci?

Bravo!
The perception of "sexy" changes from time to time! No matter how much we argue about it, we all have our own opinions about what is sexy and what is not. I see sexy in people's mannerisms; it's something that comes from the inside and no matter what you wear, if it's not coming from within, then it doesn't exist for me. But that's me.
If I have to pick... let's go with: Antonio Berardi and Dolce & Gabbana - different kinds of sexy!

Again, sexual attraction will always be initially instinctive and impulsive, so yes it is about t*ts and ***. That will always be more sexually arousing for men. But the dresses you posted are insanely sexy. I would be very attracted to a woman wearing those pieces, but I'd always be more attracted to a woman in a thigh high slit Versace gown. It's a guy thing and it's biology.
That's fine and I totally agree. I would just not feel sexy in any of those designers, which would probably result in me looking very awkward and not sexy...being sexy is mostly about how you feel anyway. If you don't feel it, you don't look it. For ME it's not about t*ts and a*ss :D

^ That's very good point, because it begs the questions of whether sexiness is determined by the wearer or the viewer. Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder?

well even if its about flesh, men and women do have different opinions on looking sexy. what most men find to be sexy, women find to be trashy....
i like this but its old collection...

also, mila kunis on the oscars was really sexy... but thats just my opinion.

This season's Haider Ackermann was totally an orgasmic mindf*ck.
But yeah, Pucci puts the sex in sexy.

I'd say Francesco Scognamiglio has a way with sexy dresses. The glamazon sexy, I mean.

Besides Francesco, I like Pucci and Haider Ackermann, in terms of sexiness. Versace used to have to die for dresses, but that era is over. Gucci was good back on the Tom Ford era, now Frida isn't focusinbg on sexy, and I wouldn't classify her style as sexy. And don't even get me started about Cavalli.

This season's S&M (Mcqueen, Louis Vuitton, etc) is sexy is a fetish way.

Francesco is incredibly underated and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves but that's a whole different story.

I would definitely have to say Peter Dundas for Pucci and Francesco.

Have to agree about Francesco. Those images posted above are really striking.

I wouls have to say its between Gucci circa Tom Ford and Versace. Cavalli to often crosses the thin line between sexy, slutly, tacky and trashy. I love what Donatella does with the beautiful draped dresses (with I have been missing for the past few seasons) and high slit which is very sexy and Tom was just amazing. He knew how to make tailoring sexy it did'nt matter if it was a dress or a suit. So its between those two for me, but...I might be leaning towards versace lol

I wouldn't feel the slightest bit sexy wearing any of the 3 aforementioned designers.

Haider Ackermann is a completely different story though.

It's not about t*ts and a*ss and ugly prints, it's about the shape.

great choices...
couldn't agree more...

:D
