The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

Hi girls,
question, Do you all get monthly appointments with your beautyspecialist,
to plug your brows?
Isn't it better to do a laser treatment, that the brows don't grow anymore?
thanks:flower:

sorry you guys my computer has been a mess lately.

i think laser treatments would be since its permanent.

thats like saying i am going to decide to be a brunetter forever.

I had a really bad waxing experience at Ulta. :( A few days ago, I had by brows waxed for the first time and I specifically told the waxer to please clean up the brows more, but not to make them super thin.

Imagine my surprise when she showed me my brows and they were so thin they looked drawn on! I asked the waxer "don't you think my brows look too thin?" And then she told me "well , I could have gone thinner."

I am now letting my brows grow back, and I am hoping that this is not irreversible. I am just afraid that the hairs will grow back sparser and thinner. When everything grows back I am going to stick to tweezers.

^That's awful! You should get your money back. She didn't even listen to you at all. If that happened to me, I'd be so mad I'd cry!

her brows are fine i think her arch got tweezed out. now its more softer. it somewhat looks odd w/her defined eye.

Really? I thought they made her look even more intense. Arches don't thrill me.

What do you think about lightening the colour brows?

Who should? Who shouldn´t? How do you do it?

well arches are not necessaty to have nice eyebrows but I just think she should have them.

Avant garde that is terrible. Next time you go(which wont be for a long time i guess) you should keep asking them 'Youre not making them thin are you?' and be like I got super thing and im traumatized now.

Sometimes you should look at the girl waxing you and see how hers look. If shes a fan of the skinny caution yourself and say not skinny like hers or something.

In the end, it isnt your fault.

Waxer - well workers in general - should know how to listen to the customer and what will satisfy them especially something so personal like eyebrows.

Thanks for the words of advice :flower: I definetly think that the waxer had her own ideas about what looked good because she herself had thin brows, but that look doesn't work on me at all.

Yesterday I had my brows done and I was quite scared, because the woman had no eyebrows, she painted them. But I have to say my brows have never looked as good as they do now. He nearly didn't pluck, just cut, cut and cut the hairs. I'm extremely happy with my brows now :)

oh thats good. thats probably the brows he wished he had.:P

waxers like to live their brow dreams on those they wax.

i am brunette, I am currently growning my eyebrows out but I just feel there is nothing there and they are so thin.. would it be an idea to have them coloured darker.. or will that look silly? Has anyone done that?

how long have you been growing your eyebrows?

IF its the issue that your brows barely have any tint in them then maybe you should dye them. I would reccommend to be critical in decision and research on brow tinting.

Consult a professional?

IF its the issue that theres barely any hair then tinting them to make it look fuller will not make the issue better and maybe even worse.

You have to be patient with brow growing. The hard fact is that it will not grow in a month or two. Patience is a virtue.

Its one of the most recurring problem women have with growing eyebrows.
They just dont have the patience for it and cant stand the "bushiness" during the process. I always say its the price to pay for years of damage.

Growing your brows takes a long time. You have to be patient to regain your natural brow.

I have let my eyebrows grow for almost two months now, and because my hairs are really thin, I always have to fill them in, but I spent the two months using spirit gum to cover the ugly hair that was everywhere, until yesterday when I finally fixed them up and changed them to a high brow, almost like nicole kidman in Moulin Rouge.

^^ Your brows are absolutely awesome Alejandro!

I love the delicious shape of them. Thickness, shape, colour, arch: all utter and absolute perfection :woot::woot:

The picture is so great, great choice to make it your avatar.

Thank you so much emailme! I have been growing my brows for over a month now.. they have gotten a fuller shape, but I have dyed my eyebrows before and seem to remember that can make them fuller I however don't want them to be too dark, as they might overpower my petite face.

As I have been growing them for a month now I am starting to wonder if this is it or if they will continue to grow.. I hope so..

no it cant possibly be it.

Im assuming youve plucked your brows for a couple of years now?

One month will not be enough to regrow all that years of plucking.

I have been growing mine for 2 years now and i still dont think its fully grown especially the one whos growing slower than the other.

I mean the normal is acceptable but im still growing the base and i think the end is too.

Enough about me, with your case you might wanna take a year or longer before you decide - if you have the patience.

It really is a big price but its your choice.

In the growing process you kinda get used to it as a couple months go by but then you go through a crappy phase now and then.

Then you wanna clean up a little of the stray hair to make yourself feel a little prettier. Then theres the falling out phase. Its really scary that all this brow hairs are falling off! Its like i worked hard for those!

Alejandro, I will forever be jealous of your eyebrows.

I am going to take a HUGE leap...and dye mine! I've been wearing my hair black for years, and it looks great, except for my eyebrows........so I'm going to go buy some eyebrow dye along with some hair colour (I always do my own hair colour. :)), and hopefully it works! I'll post some pictures if it all turns out okay!

Ibimus, be careful with dyeing your eyebrows the same colour as your hair.

Before you try this, make sure you'll really like the look and use some black eyeshadow and fill them in, and see if the look isn't too intense for you. It'll take a bit to get used to it, but if you feel comfortable, go for it.

I used to do my eyebrows very dark, same color as my hair, and it was such a contrast against the pale skin, that was causing me to look "stressed" or overly dramatic.

If you have black hair, the best colour to use on your eyebrows to fill them in is MAC's eyeshadow Smut. its a mix between brown/black and a weird bronzy irridescence that works amazing for a natural look for brunettes/black hair.

If not, Cork is the second best, which is what im wearing in that picture.

Here's a pic of my messy pallete, showing smut and brun. I can't edit the post before, the color im wearing is brun not cork

emailme: When does the falling out period happen? And why does it happen is it just the cycle of the hair and it will always happen.

I just put some black myscara on my hairs, and I really LOVE the look.. now, is there anything as a brow mascara? I am just worried if i forget the mascara will go over. But my brows look so thicker now.. it's really nice!
