Love all the Teen Vogue centred episodes!

She really could've made more of an effort with MJ. I mean Amy Astley hooks her up with her idol and she didn't even prolong the conversation let alone stand up to greet him. I thought he tried to strike up a conversation, but she just kind of froze up and blew him off. Silly Lauren!

c. in reality was not actually in meeting him

but I thought it was pretty nice of T.Vogue to mention that they knew MJ was her favourite designer..and then have her help him out and meet him..they most likely would not do that for regular interns (i.e. those not on reality shows), no?

I agree with you. Lauren is a pseudo celebrity herself and meets people all the time. I love her and I love the show, but she really disappointed me this week. I don't care if you are meeting the Pope or a busboy, you stand up and shake their hand. You don't sit there and give them a lazy half wave goodbye. I thought it was very poor form. Is this how young Hollywood acts? Unfortunalty I think Marc was very unimpressed with Lauren.

But I did love the focus on fashion and not stupid Heidi and Spencer.

Sometimes it seems as though Lauren only gets excited when she sees Brody or gets a new Chanel bag. Other than that, she comes off very flat much of the time. You'd think that MTV would want their main character to have a little oomph!

its so funny, my roommates were all dumbfounded as to who (well, beyond the designer of marc jacobs) who marc jacobs was... they were like "he's hot" and I'm like.. you shoulda seen him a few seasons ago, and ps he's not your type

I thought this was a really good episode- kind of why I started watching it in the first place- the fashion, and Lc's life as an intern.
In regards to the show being scripted i think we have to be realistic- the way these shows work is: MTV asks them to film certain scenes about things that happen in their lives, like Lauren's job meetings, her date with that lame guy last week, her hooking up with Brodie, etc.
Obviously they ask and plan in advance when these things are going to be filmed, but what gets filmed isn't' scripted. this is also the way Newlyweds worked ( i heard Nick describe it when he was in Sydney at the beginning of the year).
It's not like they just follow LC around with a camera- that would be so lame and boring. they just wait for certain scenes, things to happen and then they film those things, and emphasize scenes by asking them to talk about stuff, like when Spencer was talking to Frankie about Brodie, that was 'scripted' in the way they would have asked them to meet up and talk..
So it's like half way between a documentary and a fully scripted show, but we know that their friendships and things are real..it's not like LC and Heidi are faking a fight..

Anyway, i still enjoy the show..I really like Lauren, i think she totally should have made a better effort with Marc Jacobs! for the love of God it's Marc Jacobs! she didn't even get up, but she seemed pretty p*ssed off about styling that photo shoot, so who knows.

well, that was a long one, i'm off to bed!! i have to say I really enjoy this forum, i like everyone's opinion on the show

I know!!! That's what all my friends & I have been buzzing about on facebook (I know...) She could have at least stood up to shake hands with "her favorite" designer!!!

I used to really like Lauren...but I kind of lost some respect for her after that haha

Lauren sat front row at Marc Jacobs fall 2007 show and went to his VIP after party. I doubt this was their first meeting. MTV needs to stop pretending Lauren isn't a celebrity so these scenarios make more sense. She has her own fashion line coming out so presenting her as an intern meeting her idol for the first time who might give her a "break" isn't realistic and her reaction reflects that.
