The Hills

the lauren/ lo/ audrina drama seems really fake. it's funny how the show portrays the bad guys differently each week. last week lo was the baddie, this week it's audrina. now audrina & lc have beef, but audrina seems fine with lo...

and what is it with doug being BFF with brody & frankie.. lauren a couple of weeks ago was saying how crazy it was to bump into him, surely if brody is one of her best friends she would have seen doug around! doug seemed devestated last week that lauren broke it off, now it's all cool.. what the?!

and.. heidi is acting all 'spencer don't disturb me at work' like she's super professional when she ditched her job in vegas and didn't even let them know aaaaghhhhhhh

stephanie sucks.. she confronts brody then can't take the heat! i wonder what type of 'user' she was!! haha

i still love it all though!!

^ I think Stephanie was addicted to meth.
Doug said in some interview that he first met up with Lauren back in Feb when he moved to LA. She introduced him to Brody and Frankie and they all hit it off.

You know Heidi doesn't really work at Bolthouse. I wish Brent would fire her on camera. That would be priceless.

i think the drama between audrina and lc was real, that actually made me really sad, because i've been at that place with friends before and you just really want to hold onto what you had.

spencer=***. enough said.

i don't think lo and audrina were necessarily getting along, didn't you notice all of the sideways glances lo was making to lc like: "why is she talking to me?" and i think that steph had a right to be mad. if someone you knew all your life went behind your back to make you look bad to a friend of yours and then yells at you like that i'd be crying too. i personally think it was awesome of her to call him out on it. though i still think it was shady of lc to put that in steph's face.

and yes steph had been on meth, and understandable she went nuts, have you ever known anyone on the stuff? it's scary.

I mean I know the stuff is scripted, but I really think some of it is real...

Im glad to see Heidi finally growing a spine this season.
She's finally standing up to Spencer and letting him know that he's an as.shole
He disrespected her sister when she was nice enough to make him breakfast, and last night I applauded her when she called him out on being selfish.

But it is sad that she's still with him.
I would really enjoy a Lauren/Heidi reunion this season though.
Especially after from seeing the previews for next week.

I highly doubt that there will be a Heidi/Lauren reunion. Those previews are always so misleading. Lauren would be stupid to let Heidi back in her life, especially after all the **** Heidi talked about her on national tv, radio, to the press, to just about anyone that would listen.

A Double Dose of ‘The Hills’

On Sunday night, while we were innocently watching Serena demolish Jankovic (w00t!), a new episode of The Hills aired without so much as a peep from our DVR. DVR, why did you not alert us to this momentous event? As our soccer coach used to yell at us when we’d lazily eat orange slices instead of doing wind sprints, "You’re falling down on the job!" We’ve forgiven our little pal, however, because MTV.com has full episodes we can watch at work, cause, you know, writing Hills recaps is part of our WORK. Aren’t you jealous? And thus this week we have not one but TWO episodes for your recapped pleasure.
We start with the gang piling on Doug’s private jet to go to Las Vegas for Frankie’s birthday. What the heck do Doug’s parents DO? We know an injured minor-league baseball player (good hair notwithstanding) is not making enough loot to buy a plane. Stephanie’s there, even though Brody and Frankie hate her, and she’s wearing a seriously hoochie-esque outfit of short-shorts and high heels. Audrina and Justin Bobby will be joining the group there. “It’s a long story,” says Lauren. And yet we’re sure we’ll hear it over and over. Sigh. Brody rudely toasts to Steph, which kicks off this episode’s theme: Brody is an obnoxiously bad person.

Back in LA, Heidi and her Birkin tell Spencer (who, of course, is playing an arcade game and ignoring her) that Holly’s going to move out to California from the Montag Ranch O’ Bad Parenting. Spencer doesn’t want Holly and Holly’s girlie tampons all up in his space and basically tells Heidi that they’ll break up over this. Heidi does her strained pout of frustration in response. It's hard to move those bloated lips! When Holly arrives at the Casa de Dickwad, Spencer immediately makes her feel unwelcome. The only reason we mention this scene is because it ends with Holly saying a prolonged “thaaaank you,” to no one in particular, while staring blankly at the camera. Which: Funny! We like this Holly weirdo.
Audrina and Justin Bobby and Audrina’s big boobs arrive in Las Vegas, and she complains to him about the tension between her and Lauren. J.B. is wearing rolled-up white pants and a Harley Davidson hat and looks insane, as usual. He tells Audrina that she’s probably not going to be friends with those girls anymore. He’s right, actually. J.B. is the Karl Rove to Audrina’s big-breasted George W.

At Frankie’s birthday dinner, Stephanie and Brody get into a huge fight. “I’ve known you for a long time, and I know how crazy you are,” he tells her. “That was when I had a drug problem!” Stephanie counters. Which: Yikes. He tells her to leave, and she starts crying, which is pretty pitiful. L.C. takes her upstairs, and they have a heart-to-heart. As always, Lauren cannot manage to have a conversation without turning it into a string of painfully overused clichés. Then, at LAX nightclub, Audrina and Justin Bobby enter the room, and J.B. is accosted by Brody, who tells him that everyone’s down on Audrina. This is NONE of your business, Brody! J.B. the Oracle tells him to “drink up and be happy,” and leaves it at that.
So now we’re at Bolthouse, and Heidi is fake-working. She makes a note with a pencil! We think she just wrote, ‘I don’t know where I am or what my name is. Please take me to the nearest police station. I belong to Spencer Pratt.’ Ha. (We just made ourselves laugh with that one.) Spencer makes her get in his car to talk about the Holly situation. Holly erased three of his TiVoed shows! NO! Heidi tells Spencer that she doesn’t have time for his whining. “Get out of the house; maybe you shouldn’t be there so much,” she tells him. So true, Heidi. So true.

We end in Las Vegas. Everyone is hung-over. Lo tells Lauren that she “needs to put an end to this,” referring to the fighting with Audrina. Wait, what’s that, Lo? Lauren needs to put an end to it? Frankie comes in and tells them that Brody and Doug are in jail, because Doug got punched. Ha-ha-ha-ha. Ha. The girls look worried. We are not.

Next week: Brody and Doug are lost somewhere in jail, Lauren cries, and Whitney returns.

And now, Our Unequivocal Hills Reality Index:

As Real As Justin Bobby’s Scruff
• Those hangovers. We feel your pain, Frankie. Oh, we feel it.
• The fact that Frankie’s turning 27 but hangs out with immature 22-year-olds. Does Frankie have a job? Do any of these people have jobs? Sigh.
• We’ve said this before, but Audrina’s J.B. infatuation. It’s strange, sure, but oh so real.

As Fake As Lo’s Innocent Eyelash-Batting
• The Holly situation. Since Holly is an even worse actress than her sister (if you can believe that), her little smirks and eye movements totally give away the fact that everything about this plotline is entirely contrived (not to mention boring).
• Stephanie Pratt. We’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, but there is something so off about this chick. Like, she-really-might-be-a-CIA-agent kind of off.
• Lo’s line about how nice rooms at the Venetian are. Don’t they have enough commercial breaks on this show, already?

Up next, a recap of Monday night's episode!
__________________________________________________________
‘Hills’ Doubleheader: Audrina and Lauren Finally Talk, OMG.

MTV gave us new episodes of The Hills on both Sunday AND Monday night, meaning we've got double the Justin Bobby digestion this week. (You can see our recap of Sunday's episode here.) Last night's episode, titled "Something Has to Change," may very well suffer from Hills-recap fatigue. We do have other work duties on our agenda (though none quite as fun as this, we’ll admit), and our notes from last night are somewhat shoddy. Instead of going for a nightcap with a date, we forced him to sit with us and watch The Hills, and then were embarrassed to take as extensive notes as we usually do. Who wants to date someone who has to transcribe, word for word, lines from The Hills? (Please send answers to [email protected]…).
We pick up right where last episode left off: Brody and Doug are still missing and in jail in Las Vegas. And what do you know, two seconds into the episode, mystery solved! Brody and Doug walk in, clearly still drunk, and tell a story about how some guy basically picked a fight with them for no reason, and Brody’s “Bloody Mary goes all over them.” Yum, Bloody Mary! So they’d been in the casino jail filing police reports, not actually in jail, as Brody has implied via text to Frankie. Brody is STILL wearing his sunglasses. Ugh. Lauren calls them idiots, and for once, she’s right.

Meanwhile, Audrina and Lauren both acknowledge that they have to "talk" but avoid doing so, 'cause they’re lazy and they don’t yet want to mess up their mascara. Lots of time for that later! Audrina’s smacking gum, as is her style. It goes well with the halter tops and skanky miniskirts.

Spencer tells Holly that he and Heidi want her to move out. Holly is filing her nails and is incredulous that this request is actually coming from her sister. “I bet she’d love you even more down the hall,” Spencer b*tches.

Audrina and Justin Bobby go to dinner, where he’s looking a little less scrubby than usual, and she complains about the way Lauren and Lo treat her, yet again. Does this couple discuss nothing other than Audrina’s ****ty social life? J.B. tells her to “kick them the **** out of her life,” and then nicely says she can stay with him if she wants to move out. Audrina is confused about the situation. Audrina is always confused, poor girl.

Back at People’s Revolution, Kelly (yes!) tells Whitney that she’ll be styling the Dylan George event and working with some person named Lady Gaga. Wait, who? What? Are we too old for this reference, or is Lady Gaga just not famous? Lauren is assigned to help Whitney. “We’ll be watching you…” says Kelly, Big Brother of fashion PR. At said Dylan George event (again, who?), Lauren and Whitney successfully zip Lady Gaga into a crazy catsuit. Good job, girls!
Spencer lies to Heidi and tells her he “hasn’t seen” Holly. Heidi’s face looks strangely long, like the dad from that animated show American Dad. “Do you just not think about anyone but yourself?” Heidi asks Spencer, after he tells her he kicked Holly out. Um, ya think?

And now, dear God, we FINALLY have Audrina and Lauren having their friendship talk. There’s really nothing of note, other than Lauren says that when she hangs out with Audrina, she’s “awkwardly bobbing my head at the weird shows.” Heh. These "talks" transport us back to eighth grade, and not the fun, jam-packed bar-mitzvah schedule part of eighth grade, but the incessant girl-fights-and-backstabbing-and-crying-and-making-fun-of-other-people part of eighth grade. Oy, and here comes the mascara running down their cheeks. And the inevitable make-up and hug and sappy music. “It’s like everyone doesn’t want us to be friends,” says Audrina. And by everyone, she means MTV’s producers, clearly.

Next week: Audrina and Justin Bobby make progress, then backtrack! Holly and Lauren hang out! Can't L.C. stay away from these people's sisters?

And now, for our Unequivocal Hills Reality Index:

As Real As Lauren Is Melodramatic
• J.B.’s love of do-it-yourself Japanese barbecue. We love it too, J.B. So fun!
• Audrina’s penchant for gum smacking. You know if MTV could get her to stop doing that, they would.
• Lo’s hypocritical nature. Suuuure, she wants Audrina to be happy. But she’d definitely say that, even without the cameras rolling.

As Fake As Lo’s Emotions
• The whole Dylan George–Lady Gaga–MTV tie-in. Shudder.
• AGAIN, Spencer vs. Holly. This fakety-fake plotline better pan out fast, 'cause it’s wearing on our last nerve.
• Lauren and Audrina’s delayed "talk." We think MTV purposefully scheduled it when both girls were premenstrual, guaranteeing some mascara-laced tears.

So true. The Heidi/Spencer/Holly story is so fake. They're all the worst actors. That Holly chick has been working for Joe Francis since he got out of jail. She just wants her 15 minutes and so she's on this show pretending to have drama with her sister and Spencer - who don't even live in that apartment. They live with Spencer's parents.

I don't like their recaps. They almost treat Lauren like a supporting character and seem really rude about her.

Heidi disrespects herself by staying with Spencer. If she truly wanted to stand up for herself she would end things with him. Everytime I watch their interaction, I cringe.

In Canada we only saw one episode. We have to wait until next week to see LC and Audrina talk :(.

And Stephanie has a really troubled past. Meth addict, DUI...

Lo: I’m Audrina’s ‘Excuse’ For Rift with Lauren

September 10, 2008

Lauren “Lo” Bosworth is setting the record straight: She’s not to blame for the tension between Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge. “The problems with Lauren and Audrina started even before we decided to move in [together],” the Hills star said during an interview Wednesday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show.
“Audrina was starting to do her own thing, and I think that’s what led them apart in the beginning,” she said, explaining that the drama that plays out on the show doesn’t always reflect what’s going on in real life.
When all three became roommates, “she started to feel left out,” Lo says, and “in a small way, Audrina was using me as the excuse for why her and Lauren weren’t friends.
“But everybody who knows us knows that’s not true,” she continues. “Since we moved in, the relationship has changed … For whatever reason, me coming into the equation was a problem for [Audrina].”
And while Bosworth doesn’t deny that she and Patridge aren’t best friends — “We don’t click,” she says — she does think “Audrina is a lovely girl.”
As for the way she’s portrayed on the show, Bosworth believes Audrina “comes across as the victim and everybody feels sorry for her.”
But that’s not the case, Bosworth explains. “She has an amazing group of friends,” she tells Seacrest. “She has a completely different social scene and I think viewers don’t understand that we have lives besides the Hills.” – Brian Orloff
people.com

I heard her on Seacrest. She was saying Audrina's a nice girl, then Ryan played back an interview Audrina did with him yesterday saying that "she doesn't like Lo, but she doesn't not like Lo" (that girl isn't very eloquent). Lo was with Lauren and on her way to the Nanette Lepore show. After they heard what Audrina said, Lauren was like "take the high road". Out of respect to Lauren, Lo doesn't disrespect Audrina to the press, but Audrina seems to love to do that to her. I think she really enjoys playing the victim. It makes fans of the show feel bad for her.
Ryan flat out asked if Audrina was jealous that Lo moved in, meaning Audrina gets less screen time with the star of the show. It's becoming so obvious. Lo said that she and Audrina got along fine before they all moved into the house. It was after they moved in, that Lo became a regular on the show - she had just graduated from UCLA and was able to film more often.

I loved what I could see of Lauren's bedroom when she was talking to Audrina

I gave The Hills a try... I was just too embarassed to watch it. :ninja:

I did see a guy off the show today at The Grove - he was in season 1 and liked Audrina. Can't remember the name, but I wasn't a fan - meh.

^ Gross. I hope Lauren's smarter than that. After all the **** Heidi talked about her and her family? I think mtv wants viewers to think that there will be a reunion, to keep them watching. I can't see Lauren being down with that.
