i'm using the pic in my avatar as inspiration for a costume i'm doing (it's going to be "android chic")... anyway, it seems really complicated, but would be awesome if it could be pulled off. I'm just looking for some pointers on getting started... like how to get the milky shiny look and perhaps what they may have used on the eyes.... thanks guys~ *mwuah* ^_^

I think you need to get professional theater make-up in white to get that kind of milky shiny colour - if you don't have any theater make-up companies you can turn to maybe you could get a similar look using normal make up.
MAC makes a concealer in light lilac (Select Colour Corrector Violet) which would make you very light, but not white-white - I guess you could add Benefits High Beam for shine.
I'd go with red lipstick for the eyes and set it with neutral powder.

Best of Luck .. I hope you'll post a picture ! :flower:

the PRO MAC stores carry white foundation, like Studio Fix in Shivering White or Hyperreal in White (don't know the exact name), look the stuff up here http://www.macpro.com/templates/products/products_landing.tmpl as for the rust colored eyeshadow: maybe MAC Cranberry will do, but it's a frost e/s. there's also a matte PRO e/s called red brick, and as for the green: MAC e/s in Bitter

^I did the Gemma-thing today.
I blended lip balm and a drop of foundation in the palm of my hand, put it on my lips and eyelids. I blended a few drops of foundation and something similar to strobe cream and dabbed it on my forehead and cheeks. I blended in a darker shade of foundation below my cheekbones. I did my brows, blended more than on the pic though. Curled my lashes and put some lip balm on. A little bit brown eyeliner in the corners of my eyes.

Can anyone give recommendation on which brand on foundation and pressed powder to use to achieve this look ?

Chanel pressed power is great. It's light enough but will give you a lovely complexion.
Clarins is really good too, but it's thicker, so you need to use it sparely or you'll face will look caked.

Foundations: I hear Mac's the best, but I've never tried it myself.
Use a highlighter on your cheek bones and don't overdo the foundation. Blend it well and you should get a natural, finished look.

ALWAYS wait at least 10 mins after you've put on your moisturiser before applying make up.

^ Thanks !
I tried Chanels liquid foundation but it didn't suit my yellow undertone.
I'll try to find my shade for the pressed powder.

The most important thing with foundation is to get the right shade.
L'Oreal do a pretty good one called something like luminous or light particle foundation, can't remember. It's not heavy and it has a nice shimmer to it, it makes one look pretty natural and flawless. It's also cheaper than Chanel.
Lancome did some good ones too, although I could never find my shade, a bit too dark for my complexion, but the texture and coverage were fantastic.

Not really as in I've never gone to make up school, but I do some modelling so I've learnt lots and lots from that.
Also I love skincare and make up, so I've tried almost everything!!!!!!
There's nothing worse than seeing a pretty face badly made up.

^ Oh, thanks!
I'll definately take a look at that then. Are you a make up artist?

If you have a yellow undertone go for mac or bobby brown :flower:

MAC was terrible for my skin, so I threw it away instantly and I can't buy Bobby brown from where I am. I know it can be purchased online, but I always want to try a foundation out before I buy it. Thanks for the tip though :flower:

I agree 100% with u alexisaxe
