The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

Thank you .... is there anyone who knows what products make-up artists use on Tiuu Kuik and Mischa Barton so it looks like it comes SO NATURALLY. Please help me acheive this elusive GLOW. Thanks for all your help, TFSers are the best, naturally.

^ I think when it comes of both of them, they have really good skin to begin
with.
So no matter what kind of make up they use it will always look
flawless.

I have really good skin but I think its my eyes that I cant get to stand out ... Im not sure what it is, I just cant make myself natural and striking ... always have to reach for the metallic shadows and kohl pencil and then my eyes come out. Not sure how to acheive the more natural gorgeousness...

^4 words - shu uemura eyelash curler! i just got one and it is as amazing as all the magazines say it is - believe the hype!
Natural gorgeousness can be obtained with curled lashes, a touch of mascara and some neutral colored eye cream shadow thats got a bit of iridescence, I've got a good one by Calvin Klein called "citrine".
really the curlers make all the difference x

anyone can tell me how to get that eye make up alexis has? i know it is with some kind of brown eyeshadow i guess, i like it because it looks "soft" and i can wear it as day make up i guess....(sadly i don't have as gorgeous eyes as she...)

i love this thread .... Shu Uemera isn't available in my country, and I obviously want the Holy Grail a.k.a eyelash curler .... is it worth it to import one or will a MAC eyelash curler do??

I got one from the drugstore by revlon and I think it works well. On the other hand I have never invested in one before the one I currently own...

Shu doesn't work for EVERYone. I've got it, was cheaper than expected (10€, around 12US$), but didn't work as good as one I got before that costed like 2€ less. Maybe I'll try it again later, but at the moment it doesn't fit my eye shape as good as it should.

I'd say try it, but be prepared that it might not work for you

I have almond-shaped eyes ... I'm not sure the MAC one is probably second best

snaps for this thread ^_^

i'd like to know if you can help me with this one. the application doesn't look too complicated, so i need help on the products :flower:

I love how the eyes look.
I wonder if it is only fake eye lashes with a good mascara, and nude lip stick
any ideas?

thank you :flower:

I think you should go for a soft liner with the *blending tip* at the otehr end.Smudge the liner so it's soft and sultry, then go over the line with black eye shadow. add a hint of silver shadow on the bottom lid, blend well.Curls lashes, add 2 coats of thickening mascara

I think it is fake lashes! Though you can get a similar looks by doing this:
Dust the top of eyes to prime it for the liner with powder.
Then line the top of your eye, thinner towards the inner. I use bobbi brown gel liner, with a very, very thin brush, and follow your natural eyelash line. Steadilydraw you line to the natural edge of your eye and get a little thicker, 1/4" away from it.
Once you have the natural edge done, you can kick it up at the end. Try not to squint or anything because you dont want the line to get caught in the fold of you lid ( it will not last as long. So extend it out, but try not to curl it up, but rather extend it up just a little ( less than 1/4)
Dust the top of your lid with a lighter, (very light yellow or soft white) but not over your line you just drew, Just to clean it up and keep the oils away very close to the line.
Then curl your lashes..
Mascara- Bourjois has the one that has the white fibers to extend- use something like this if you don't have this brand, then apply the darker color. For this look brush your lashes with mascara, instead of up and curled, try to brush outward and then up, more catlike.
Then with the gel liner and brush, very carefully, draw the line at the outer corners of your eyes on the bottom lash line, only draw it in about 1/4". I dont think it is done here, but it really does make your eyes look larger.
Then just do that mascara thing again for bottom lashes, but insetead of sweeping outward. Just take off a clump on the tip of your mascara brush and just go side to side gently on the bottom lash line's outer corners.
Then the way to really get it softenedup is with the lighter shadow, I use bare minerals in chenille and dot it at the part of your eye closer to the inner and blend under eye sweeping upward along lash line..
Works for me..;-)

Looks like cream eyeshadow, white along lash line and a little pink in the middle, then the shimmer white by the brow bone. Liquid liner like a cat on top. Use the Christian Dior, since it has a tapered brush, but also can get thicker. ( christina aguillera's look)
