Bonjouuur!

Not posted here for a long time since I've been busy working on projects I've always thought about doing, anyway I thought about doing a design for a small range of tshirts and canvas bags which I've now finished and I'm looking for peoples thoughts and comments...

1. The Design (to be printed on the tshirt)

I just wanted to share some images of the first clothes from my own line, Leon.
While these are not part of a specific collection, these were the first items created under the line. They were for The Nouveau Classical Project, a collaboration between classical musicians, fashion designers and artists. Fashion designers were given a specific piece of chamber music to use as inspiration, in turn, they design clothes for the musicians to wear during the performance. (artists were given the same thing, so each performance had a designer and an artist)

I was given a trio of male musicians, the piece I was given was Brahms Piano Trio Op. 87 C Major I.

While these are not all the pieces from the show, these were the main ones. I have to apologize though, I left my camera with good images from the show with a friend, however we are planning to shoot a book for the show, so I will post some pics of the clothes on the musicians.

And my favorite piece I made for the musicians. Wide leg cuffed trousers. The belt loops detached from the inside via buttons, and each pair has an elastic drawstring belt that you can slip on and secure through the belt loops. Thus turning the formal pant into a more casual 'sweats' like pant. Alternatively you can just wear it with a belt. When worn with a belt it cinches into a paperbag waist.
As for the other pieces, I did a combo dress shirt thats part jersey and part shirting, a reversable shoulder bag and a brooch with the help of artist tobias wong! I will get pics of those up when I can. I hope you enjoyed these!

For a first show I'm very happy with how it all turned out, and I hope to churn out a full collection soon.

beautiful menswear, mouko!

i like how your design input has got real substance, as in the secured trench belt and fake jogging trousers.

do you already produce for wholesale clients or are you currently making the clothes for sampling, only?

thanks for the kind words!

Right now these are just for the show, not for sale. However next month I'm going to be working on my first full collection. Where I take it from there (wholesale? online?..etc) is still up in the air.

^^^ I read your blog all the time!! Happy Caturday!!!!

Wow, Eyola is gorgeous! Totally my style.

omg! does anyone ever feel like TFS is NYC in a way..you'll never discover everything it has to offer lol..I completely am amazed that I just found this awesome thread and I am an indie fashion addict, so much so that I made a magazine, blog and online store for it lol..wow Im gonna read this whole thing this week and try to feature some of the designers in our upcoming issue!

Kimberwyn, glad to see you still active on TFS..love the blog and store, congrats again :)

Mark Fast + Mary Katrantzou both CSM graduates who showed this morning at London Fashion Week.I think the latter has a really distinct approach to design and Mark Fast is doing great things in knitwear.Cannot find ANY pictures from the show though.
Someone find them and make a thread please!
