gius, do you mean these?

If it's removable and doesn't ruin the surface of the object it was placed on (ie. wall or car or airplane), then this must be it! Thanks so much
So after all, it has a name, called "decals" ...

Perhaps I can make my own^_^
It looks like it's possible!

Does anyone know about the company that makes wallpaper/posters that are like stickers? If you live in an apartment and put them on the wall, they peel off easily and won't ruin the wall.
I forget the name of the company, but I think it is an American company and they showed them on the Tyra Banks talk show sometime ago.

Perhaps blik is what you are looking for:

Maybe you are talking about Debbie Travis's line, the host of reality tv show, FaceLift? You can find it in HomeDepot and Canadian Tire, they have some self-stick wall paper under her paint selection, and i really like her white wallpaer that comes in with various 3D texture that you can paint over and over again, but i have no idea about how easy it is to peel off.

Are you serious??

I am saving up for my Stark ghost chair, its going for $400 at this interior design store here...

Here's some scratches of my apt.

And my original Verner Panton fabric

I found a couple of cool items I thought I'd share:

I love these tables, especially with one of the Woodhouse loveseats by Jonathan Adler

Also, I'm sure people have been to apartmenttherapy.com, but if not, it's a great source for ideas, especially from the pages of the "Smallest, Coolest Apartment" contest

I love these shots from their entry...it's not everyone's style, but there's a really cohesive and individual style in this apartment:

Thought I'd revive this thread to get peoples thoughts.

I've mentioned before that my room is uber small. Well I'm moving to a larger room in my house and now have the chance to redecorate before moving in. I'd either like to paint the room chocolate/warm brown tones (overdone, but it's still beautiful and not really as common here.) or else the grey/white/eggplant shades I've talked about in the past. I'm worried that the grey will be too dark and make the room feel cold and I'm not quite sure how to deal with that whereas I think the brown would be a bit warmer. I also have carpet in the room that is sort of a brown/grey colour that really cannot be altered (as the woodfloor underneath is basically unsalvagable). Finally, there is a MASSIVE mirror in the room. About 8 feet high by 4 feet wide. I think this would be great to make the room seem even bigger, but I'm unsure of where to place it. Opposite the window to reflect more light or use it a dressing mirror or? Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hi Meg!

I have some insight because I just moved and had the walls painted.
The grey can me a bit depressing. Our office is mostly fresh green and one of the walls is grey and I'm a bit surprised how the grey still makes me a bit gloomy. I wouldn't really recommend it unless the space is really big (and opening up to a beachfront :woot:). I have chocolate brown in my living room and I just love it. It's only on one wall but it's truly gorgeous, such a warm colour!

As for the mirror, I'm not sure. Opposite the window can be a bit tricky. Does the sun shine in? Will the sun blind you if you have double the sun? Having too much morning sun in one's room can make one grumpy :innocent:
Keep in mind, you would need a dressing mirror anyway, so place it where it's most convinient for that job.

love :flower:

thanks for the thoughts maarit. I love grey in a room but I think you're right. If I get a bit down I will feel like i'm in a prison cell  Even if I have the white and eggplant to counteract. Esp. because London is overcast about 90% of the time. And good point about morning sunshine, the sun shines into that room directly. It will annoy the hell out of me to have the mirror there!

Can anyone recommend any good interior design magazines? I think picking up a few might help solidify my ideas.

i painted the far wall of my loft a lovely battleship grey and it looks AMAZING!..
but of course that is in a loft that is sort of industrial to begin with - so it works there...
not sure about a smaller space...

but if you relegated it to only one wall and brightened it up with the eggplant...
i think that could be very elegant meg...
:flower:

thanks for the input softie. Tried to karma but I can't at the moment  I think I will just get colour swatches in there and see how it goes. Plus it can't be too 'crazy' or my landlady won't like it. Not that she ever visits the house, let alone the rooms.

The best mags are:
Livingetc
Vogue Living Australia
Marie Claire Maison

some also like Elle Decor UK, but it's not quite for me

professional designers recommend that you buy the little sample cans and paint a large square on the wall and try living with it for awhile to be sure...

even designers are often surprised by how a colour looks in a room ...
it's normal really...

**but i was always too lazy to do that...
...

 I like your style soft. Sorry I'm so ignorant on the subject, hence all the questions by all the people in here who have an innate sense for it. What is the best way to choose a 'statement' wall? I can't think of the correct term but if you have a room all one colour and then choose one wall to paint a brighter more vivid colour?

you should consider the shape of the room and whether you want it to appear more longer or more wider and go with that.

PS hi softie! the grey wall sounds very cool in a loft, but sadly our office is quite small.

Thanks for all the thoughts everyone and the mag suggestions maarit :flower:

meg i love the combination of duck egg blue
which is very cool & calming w/rich chocolate
