is it stainless steel? i'd assume it's from the 60s, looks like it could be by flos, did you have a look at the manufacturers details, they will probably be on the bottom of the lamp.

Thank you tifa. It is stainless steel yes, with a marble base. I could not find any manufacturer details on the lamp.....

My bedroom has been the same since I moved into my house years ago. Unfortunately, my parents decided to get me connected furniture, which means that I can't move anything around. One time my hamster got stuck behind it and it took a long time to rescue him since we had to unscrew the furniture! Also, it makes my room feel so cramped. I really want change, but the furniture makes it practically impossible. Any suggestions?

that's odd! well i'll assume it's from the 60s from then, my mums taught me quite a bit about antiques through the years :) it is a really nice lamp!

Thanks, I really like the lamp too! Just out of curiosity i'd like to find out what its worth. Would you have any idea?
(I paid $5 for it in a fleamarket :innocent:)

That standing lamp is gorgeous! You might find out who it is by by going to http://www.apartmenttherapy.com and you can email the guys there to see who it might be by.

Love the round lamp as well. It was featured in quite a few design blogs a few weeks back. Though the jonathan adler giraffe lamp is quite nice as well! I think you made the right choice though.

Update on the round light:

It arrived yesterday and it's much bigger than I expected, but not too big. It's rather unremarkable when it's not on, but it makes the prettiest light patterns on my walls at night. The light doesn't shine through the porcelain, only the holes:

New Home, New Bedding

Hello Everyone,

I'm moving in with a girl I know and I'm looking to get some bedding for my room. It's love to hear anyone's suggestions for stores or online shops to look in. In the meantime, I've found these three designs: first two are from Victoria's Secret and the last from WakeUpFrankie.com.

^ I think out of all them, the 1st one looks the best. The rest look tacky.

the last one is really bad, like you'd see it in a dodgy movie ;) the first one is really nice and delicate.

My apartment is practically all white, grey, navy, steel and black, and I've decided I should try to make it a bit cosier... So I started today by buying some of the Tris from iittala:

Looks cosy, and I can relate with your problem. I have a VERY minimalistic way to decorate the space I live in, as I hate mess and too many things, but it does make it a little bit "cold" in terms of interior.

I dream with a white house!
And the only color it's steel if steel can be considered a color :D

Tott, I used to be equally concerned about using dark colors in small spaces, simply because everyone told me not to do it. Well, I decided to do my own thing and painted my tiny, not well lit bedroom (this is NYC afterall) a deep chocolate brown, and guess what, "I adore it"!! I think of it as my own little jewel box. I think the key is to use interesting textures, stones, tiles and other elements to make the most of your little space. I'm sure that it will be extraordinary when you're through.

^ Sounds very cosy!

Today I'm dying a little inside... I found my dream apartment in my neighbourhood, it's what I've always wanted. It's a newly converted, super sleek and minimalistic attic with a fantastic s/s kitchen from Boffi, gorgeous bathroom, beautiful fireplace, terrace, small bedroom, walk-in closet... 105/1130 square meters/feet.

It's way too expensive for me, but if I had the money I wouldn't hesitate even for a second! It is PERFECT for me. Bidding starts at 750 000 €...
