textiles not quite the same as home economics ::blush: we didn't learn sewing.. but thank you for the tip! i am at the site now, i see their curtains are made of "heavy-duty suede lining" :o
looks like it has many benefits.. keeping heat in also and blocking light out. i find i am not sleeping well unless it's close to pitch dark; and we have the city across the water's lights coming in straight at us

It seems they left out a very important part

I would assume that's "suede" in quotation marks, as they would have many vegetarian customers ...

I love homes that have quirky details, second-hand charm, and lots of art and knick-knacks. Houses that look well-loved and lived in. ^_^

Those are great pictures! They aren't my taste though, I'm far too 'proper, prim, & organized' to live in a place like that. I'm a white acrylic/stainless steel kinda gal which would seem to some as quite boring but also quite modern in terms of interior decor. However, I can certainly see the appeal of a hippy chic, quirky, antique emblazoned home like that. I only wish I could stand to live in such an apartment without having a stroke everytime I'd walk in the door.

susanna-cole, i too prefer a bit of second hand charm and quirkiness, i LOVE the pictures!

Lux, i thought this might be interesting for you as a little inspiration :flower: totally love the black-white details in combination with all the blue elements...

Oh thanks delonge!!
I love it :flower: and the floor is amazing! All the room looks so airy, fresh and pleasant  Those are the exact characteristics I want to put up in my room.

What do you think of writing like this on the wall?

I have an empty white wall in my bedroom, and I'm thinking of ordering a big wallsticker with a few of my favourite quotes

something similar to this from Vynil

love the idea as well ....
when i'll have my own place i'll do that ....
love it ....

i will stick a great quote (in my mind are for the moment either Oscar Wilde or something more conceptual like Kosuth or Weiner) ....

i like the idea... its very special..besides i think it will be fun picking nice quotes :-)

a friend of mine used to have many many quotes on her bathroom walls and they were written from right to left, kind of mirror-inverted, so you could only read them when youre looking into the mirror..they were all like "youre wonderful" etc. i will ask her if she kept some photos of it, it was such a beautiful idea

^that sounds very cool, and it's a nice thing to see when you're not feeling so good about your looks.. I hope she kept photos of it, I would love to see

I love it because it's so personal, but the hard thing now will be to find quotes that won't bore me.. that will be hard

Single Stone Studios on Etsy are one of my favorite shops and they do wall decals just like you're talking about, and their prices seem quite reasonable and they ship internationally. Unless of course, you already have a company in mind :P They do a lot of very cool interesting wall decals as well, a lot of huge organic ones (ie birch trees) that create quite a cool effect with ones furniture as well. Example:

Nevermind, you just answered my questions. haha

saann, are you planning to go for a collection of single quotes or rather for a whole text? like an anectode with a special punchline or something?

btw meg, SSS on etsy is just awesome :woot: their designs are great

Yes we do! See around and u'll find a lot of places and houses with quotes in the walls

I don't remember when it was but in Famashow when they show Rita Pereira in her room the wall behind her bed it was full of words and quotes like "Dream" "Sleep tied" and things like that, if you look in interior magazzines u'll find some too!

I'll take some pics for u!

Oh cool cool :D

I never noticed that before ahaha

I really like the idea. It's like getting a tattoo. I have tons of quotes I would like to put in my room - Oh I want EVERYTHING! For God sake, I can´t decide on one thing or one style!

You know what? I should have 4 different rooms

(e obrigado Nyni :flower:)
