What do you think of writing like this on the wall?

I have an empty white wall in my bedroom, and I'm thinking of ordering a big wallsticker with a few of my favourite quotes

something similar to this from Vynil

www.domestic.fr

I think it's a great idea. An author I like has done this in her house in a couple places (no pix that I know of, just descriptions).

I would want to change them, I think ... you could also do a wall of blackboard paint (it can be any color) & write them up in chalk ...

Yes we do! See around and u'll find a lot of places and houses with quotes in the walls

I don't remember when it was but in Famashow when they show Rita Pereira in her room the wall behind her bed it was full of words and quotes like "Dream" "Sleep tied" and things like that, if you look in interior magazzines u'll find some too!

I'll take some pics for u!

:innocent:

We always said "sleep tight" ...

having a chalk board was actually my first thought^_^, I thought it would be fun to have friends write whatever they want on it.. but I don't know, I'm keeping my room very light so it wouldn't go well

delonge - I will probably just have a bunch of quotes that I like all mixed together, I've found a couple so far but I will continue looking

Meg - those were very gorgeous! but I found a company here in sweden that does custom made wall decals, it's much easier if I do it here.. but thanks for the link:D

Nyni - thanks for the links, I will take a look around those sites:woot:

So I'm thinking about re-decorate my room and I would like it to be very navy style. A lot of blue, navy-blue, which I love.

Any tips or photos, perhaps?

Thanks

Hi Lux.

Not too keen on navy blue in interiors myself..I think it's a hard color to do.. it can easily turn cold, clinical and even a bit '80's office' / bad copy of Greek island interior... so I don't have a lot of images in that color scale saved on my laptop..

That said.. I'd love to see what you come up with!

I found this, which I like this, because it makes the blue less cold and more 'earthy' - Hope you like.

I guess this is more black with a tinted blue/teal than actually navy blue :ninja:

^ hanne, i love the first room!
and i agree with you, navy blue isnt really easy to handle.. i think it goes with only a few things, like black/white decor and furniture and several kinds of wood of course..

i also think its a matter of size...i think its a bit problematic with small rooms.. have you ever considered to maybe have three walls painted beige/grey or smth similar and only one of it blue?

this would be one example for what im talking about, from apartmenttherapy.com

i think it will also work with a darker shade of blue / navy blue! :flower: of course with matching decor, like navy blue pillows etc

Oh cool cool :D

I never noticed that before ahaha

I really like the idea. It's like getting a tattoo. I have tons of quotes I would like to put in my room - Oh I want EVERYTHING! For God sake, I can´t decide on one thing or one style!

You know what? I should have 4 different rooms

(e obrigado Nyni :flower:)

Here's the link for famashow with Rita Pereira, you can barely see the quotes and the words on internet but you can see perfectly the "lua" and the "neve", forget the kitty things and focus on the wall...:flower:

I love her white room, never thought that a bad taste like her had this gorgeous room!!!:innocent:

I love chalkboard paint!! I want to paint my ugly white fridge and draw all over it but I dont think it'll come off when I move out.

I really like deep blues used in homes, but yes, it's not very easy to coordinate. The pics above show that rust brown/reds work really well. I love that rug in Hanne's post! I think bright colors make the deep navy pop too, along with the use of white.

I thought I'd give the thread a bump!

interesting !^

rox Do you know what the wall is made of? (2nd photo in your first post)
I love it !! It looks kind of soft, but it might be stucco?

Hanne and Delange, thank you for your inspiring pictures :D Love it. I am already planning things. Maybe when I'm done I can post pictures

It's textured concrete. Though I'm not sure whether it's render over a structural wall component or if the actual concrete panel wall system has been cast to be textured.

I'm not sure if this applies but... I'm currently a college student and living in a dorm. I would love to do more with my dorm, maybe add a bit more personal touches here and there. Besides photographs on the walls, is there anything else I could do to add to this "private yet public" space?

I'm also apartment-hunting for my own place to decorate

hanne just gave me a hint that i might love what susanna cole posted and, yes, i do. in fact i love a whole lot of stuff posted. and since i'm here...
