looking at all of these colorful spaces makes me realize I could never have a minimalist home.. It just needs to have some warmth and kitsch!

Same here. I love to be surrounded by things....

My apt is books, pics and knick knacks galore and I couldn't live without some bright walls throughout the place.

i like the fabric on the bed too  very weird ,like fish scales

Any one have any idea where to find a gold blanket like that? I LOVEE it! ive looked everywhere and searched the internet far and wide and have not found anything close to it. I love the softness of the gold color. and it looks comfy!

As far as the rest of the bed goes, I am liking these comforters (i dont really like duvets..mine always get messed up and tangled!)

.or maybe something like that. I dont want it to be overwhelming. Definitely comfortable and luxurious, though.

Let me know what you think or if you have any recomendations!

Congratulations on your new apartment! i know a few sites that would have bed covers like that, but im in australia so i dont think they would ship overseas :( i love the gold bed cover its gorgeous. also what if you found one that is a creamy colour but shiny also? it would be close if u cant find the gold cover.

Is there a photo of the comforters you liked at Antropologie? No photos are showing up for me. :( But I  Anthroplogie bedding! :woot: I finally splurged on this Anthropologie quilt here. ^_^

Congratulations on your new apartment, by the way! :flower: Having a new place to decorate is always fun! ^_^

There is something wonderful about peering into people's homes. I think some tfs-ers should post pics of their favourite parts of the home or even just pictures of their personal touches.^_^ If you manage to get hold of your perfect bed send us a pic meganpharis:flower:

Here's some pics from Kim's (blogger of desiretoinspire site) newly decorated bedroom.

I love these kitsch portraits from 60's/70's - does anyone know the artist of this style of painting?

She's made a great feature out of clustering these old cameras together.

This retro fan is adorable - I want one now!

I'm currently wanting to overall my bedroom and am inspired by so many contrasting styles - so tempted to cram it all in even though I know it would end up looking a mess. Damn it - I want my own place to give space to all my ideas!

Here are some images I came across today:flower:

^^Thanks for sharing those photos 1karina1! :flower:  You have great taste, I always love seeing the pictures you post. ^_^

karina, I think you are my interior design soulmate. ^_^ I thoroughly enjoy your posts.

Anybody know any good places for Louis XIV based furniture.
I need sort of vintage, intricatly carved furniture for my new bedroom.
I live in Toronto btw.

Also pics for inspiration would be nice, i've looked but only get modern bedrooms.
Like Ikea-ish rooms.

xavier - you might try looking at Sarah Richardson's website for lists of antique/vintage stores she/her studio go to.

I agree with classicalbang - I always love your choices karina. I think when it comes to that sort of jumbled style, the key is finding pieces you love and incorporating them. It wouldn't work to have 4 different styles of lights if you got home and every night you thought 'ugh, there is no symmetry' but when you love everything that is in a room, the confidence of having each item in there shines through.

(L)Meg! Thanks, but I can't find it.
Her products are mostly modern also.

And Meg, you make a very good point here :flower:

XavierRaphael I was thinking about your dilemma and immediately thought of Graham and Green. They do great French style pieces (among other things), however they are a British company so I don't know if their items would be available to you. But I thought I'd post some images from their Chateau inspired range for the bedroom and post a link for you to explore some more

Also check out Airspace locations Here are homes that are French inspired to look at

I don't decorate as much as I store things.. I like living in an organized mess. I guess once I have my own apartment, it will be different. I do love furniture. Currently I'm looking for an old red velvet chair and some antique frames for my artwall.
