The Kills

yea I don't think Kate should go on stage. I'm a fan of her modeling and a fan or Allison's music. The two should stick with their profession.

oh finally. i thought there was no thread about him. the man is hot. and of course, very stylishB)

^ Thanks for that article. Who wouldn't be inspired by Alison's style?

Has anyone managed to find a video of The Kills live at Glastonbury? I can't find any on youtube or the bbc website, which is so annoying. I found a recording of them playing somewhere, but it didn't have a video...

More photos from Glastonbury...

Also I found a review of their performance at Glastonbury. Not entirely positive, but still... (from glastonburyfestivals.co.uk)...

The Kills

John Peel Stage

Friday

Every year the John Peel Stage builds on its growing momentum of having the heart of raw guitar music and today's line-up only added to this. As I heaved my way to the front past all the Kate Moss wannabes I heard a young girl ask "So who’s John Peel?". My heart nearly sunk but hey, give youth a chance.

The Kills stepped onto stage with their usual slumber and in kicked the industrial sound system. I used to be dubious of such bands that didn’t use ‘real’ percussion and had it all pre-programmed but if the end result works then who cares. It leaves the pair to do what they do best. The set was, as usual for this UK-US mighty merger band, a gritty and dark interpretation of modern rock. The pair of Dubliners bounced off each other like enthusiastic atoms. Alison Mosshart twirled across the stage like a goth ballerina as Jamie Hince pounded his way through aggressive blues riffs track after track.

Though this wasn’t the first time I’d come away from a Kills gig slightly disappointed. I think it’s just because their so consistent with their performances that I’m looking for them to go that little bit heavier or a bit harder. Looks like they're going to make me wait.
