The Kills

The Kills' singer Alison Mosshart was rushed to the hospital last night during a performance in Boulder, Colorado.

The singer, who has also been collaborating with Jack White on their new project The Dead Weather, was reportedly suffering from a combination of a cold and altitude sickness, which left her short of breath and caused her to cut short the band's performance at the Fox Theatre, according to a statement released by her publicist.

She was released from the hospital after a brief observation, and intends to continue the rest of The Kills' North American tour as scheduled.

Poor VV :(

Man that's awesome! I was at the same show. I thought it was amazing except for the fact that Jamie's guitar kept dying out on him. He seemed super bummed out by that eh. But they still killed it. I saw them on the No Wow tour as well. Which I think was probably better, but maybe only because Jamie's gear was working like it should've been.

I saw them on the No Wow tour too... and I liked it alot- probably because I prefer No Wow to Midnight Boom- but I thought they seemed much more comfortable on stage this time? Especially Alison, she was like a caged animal man!
I was so excited to be there and having such fun that I didn't even notice what was going on with Jamies guitar until my boyfriend pointed it out! How vague I am!!!

Haha. No way. It was during Getting Down I think, and it cut out on him for so long he sat down, he looked so bummed out eh. Poor dude. And remember he picked up Alison's guitar for awhile as well, but then that cut out on him too. Such bad luck man! It would've been rad if they'd played Love Is A Deserter and stuff. One thing I wish is that they played a longer set eh. They've got more than enough gold material to play for like 2 hours I reckon! Man that'd rule!

That would be great, but I guess they would be totally exhausted!

wow that sounds so scary what happened to vv. I'm so glad she's okay.

Has anybody seen them on Live from Abbey Road? I think it's kind of old, but it was playing all weekend on Sundance Channel & it was amazing. I love seeing interviews with them, they work together so brilliantly, it's amazing to me.

I haven't seen that? Sounds great though? do you know if it's online anywhere?

Also, haven't seen this on here anywhere. Midnight Boom must've done good things for them to warrant a re-release of Keep On Your Meanside.. ahhh I remember going to the record store on advice of NME and hearing the first chord of superstition.. sold in one second flat.

I have more photos of Alison in her clubmasters in a magazine somwhere, but I can't find it :( If I do, I will scan the images.

Found the magazines! (Sorry about all these posts, but if I didn't do it now, I would forget later). I apologise in advance for the terrible scans...

scanned by me, from Grazia: Issue 34 (March 23 2009) and Grazia: Issue 35 (March 30 2009).

Thank You so much for all this Nouvelle Vague!:woot:
Ahah they look sooo cool at this Rayban Beijing event. I love them.

I don't know this b-side, Gum. Has anyone heard it before? I really like Hit Me When U12, check it out if you don't know it!

Yoooo. Gum isn't a proper song or anything. It's kind of like 'Hand' I guess. It's just VV talking and cheqing Gum, whilst this like dissonant music box chimes away in the background.
Funnily enough, she's talking about chewing gum in the track. It's tagged on to the end of Dropout Boogie eh.

Gum is not my favourite track of theirs. I wonder if it's just going to be a CD release? I'd love to have Dropout boogie on vinyl.

Does anyone have more pictures of Alison in her Discount days? She looks so different now :innocent:

It's stunning. You can't help wondering how did she become this amazing rock chick??

By the way, does anyone have a good live version of Dropout Boogie? I got a great one from their 2005 Black Session, but it's cut off!...
