aww, jamie got kate moss's name tattooed on his arm and alison got "j" tattooed on hers. unrequited love.

Were Alison and Jamie a couple at one point? If so, who ended it?

And couldn't "J" stand for Jack...as in Jack White?? There was a whole lotta chemistry between those two! :p

i don't think they were ever together - at least they haven't admitted to it. in concerts, it seems like she always comes to him. and in interviews, she always talks about how she was obsessed with him before they even met and how enamored she is by him. he says really nice things about her too, of course, but not to that point.

They were never together, their love is brother/sisterly. Alison has said that she finds the notion of being with him so inappropriate because of this.

The J tattoo is probably for Jamie - they are very close

When I saw them in concert I can't say that I noticed that one-sidedness you point out lunabella. Hmm. Anyhow, thanks to you and LuLover for clarifying. I thought I read that they lived together at one point and I assumed they had been a couple. But to me, Alison seemed smitten with Jack White and he with her. And Karen Elson wrote that song about her love being stolen by a woman with black hair, then they divorced!

Mind you, since the Dead Weather stopped touring I haven't seen Alison and Jack together, so maybe it was all stage theatrics? That's not convincing to me. I would not be surprised at all if that "j" tattoo has a double meaning ... two loves, one more heart-felt, the other, lust.

Have you heard that new single will include 3 cover songs and booklet with over 100 polaroid shots? Im excited!

Ugh She looked amazing at Marcs show:heart:, her hair is bananas but she works it and Im in love with that sweater. could anyone tell me what are the cover songs?:flower:

The more familiar you are with their earlier stuff, the more convincing it is that Jamie and Alison had a relationship at one point (I can't figure out if it was before Valentine or post-Valentine though). They would never admit it though. If all of their early bumping and grinding on stage was only an act, than why did it stop when Jamie met Kate? Also, all of Alison's love songs are of an unrequited nature.

That said, I've always entertained the notion Alison is gay. I can't explain why but I get that vibe too :innocent: I don't intend to be sensational, those are just my humble opinions.

I genuinely don't think there's ever been anything romantic between them. A man and a woman can be best friends without having any sexual intercourse at some point.
I don't think there was something going on with Jack either.

To me there is no way Alison is gay when I look at her lyrics or her attitude onstage with Jamie (or Jack! remember the way she used to look at him?). We know she dated Jefferson Hack and this guy from White Rose Movement, Finn something. Plus I remember seing paparazzi pictures of her holding some guy in a parisian parking lot circa 2008 in a way that wasn't just friendly. She is a very private person, that's why people fantasize about her life.

^Plus it's a good way to keep people interested in their music. All the mystery surrounding them draws more attention from the audience.

or hooking up on tour...i kow her and jack were drinking buddies.,,,i think maybe more went on than just being bandmates...he bought her an insanely large onyx mourning ring while they toured..

and i thought her and jaimie were romatically involved,,,

I must say I'm one of the people secretly wishing that Jack and Alison would have a relationship... I guess it'd be too good to be true! As Not Plain Jane said, we haven't seen Alison and Jack together since the end of The Dead Weather. And if I'm not mistaken, Jack still refers to Karen as his wife! (what?)
I remember reading a review talking about "two cats circling each other, trying to figure out whether to f*** or fight". Damn, it was indeed incredible to watch. I really miss The Dead Weather! But if there wasn't anything going on between them, then they're pretty good actors.

I totally would LOVE to see Jack and Alison together as well - I keep hoping. The Dead Weather are so dark and sexy; hope they are back soon.

Fashion shows are horrendously awkward affairs. As non-famous people who spend most of our time trying not to wander into pictures, trip over lighting wires, or stare too creepily at celebrities, we can only imagine how said celebrities must feel in the same setting. Surely they suffer from all the same quandaries that we do, plus a whole bunch more, like what on Earth to say to whatever starlet they're seated next to or making sure their skirt won't do this in front of a million photographers. But of course, when you ask most celebrities if they want to crawl under their chairs, they just smile and say, "Of course not! It's such an honor to be here!" as they fondle their free clothes. Except for Jamie Hince, Kate Moss's husband. He feels just as silly as the rest of us.
In the latest British GQ, Hince talks about his weird relationship to fashion. It's hard to tell whether he means to be serious or not, which of course makes his comments even funnier. (It also helps to read this with a British accent or, if you happen to have a British co-worker, just have him read it aloud for you.)
On performing at New York Fashion Week:
We were at New York Fashion Week because we happened to be in New York and we were invited to play at a Marc Jacobs party. A party's a party, isn't it? And I like Marc Jacobs. He came to my wedding.
On sitting front row at Stella McCartney:
She is my friend, and her dad was in the Beatles.
On personal style and hygiene:
Never wear a hat and sunglasses at the same time, because it looks like you're wearing a disguise. Also, change your scarf regularly.
On attending fashion shows:
You can tell I'm a bit awkward about it. I feel a bit uncomfortable about where the whole fashion and music thing came from, really. Sometimes I feel like: "What am I doing here?"
Well, at least that last quote is something we can relate to.
