The Kills

I saw them two nights ago in Auckland and it was AMAZING! I was in the centre of the front row, right between their two microphones which was brilliant (though it mean I had to get there 2 hours and 45 mins early). I managed to grab Jamie and Alison's hands lol and touch Jamie's guitar and my friend got one of his guitar picks that he left on stage. There was no barrier between the stage and the crowd, so I was only like 1/2 a metre away from them the whole night and at one point Alison lent down at the edge of the stage right in front of me and played guitar right next to my face. And Jamie stood at the edge of the stage there as well at one point and played his guitar right over my head. I only had my phone so the quality of photos isn't that great, but I might upload some later.

Anyone here who's gonna watch their gig in NYC on May 2? :)

I just got a copy of the new b-sides today and woowowow, they are so good! It's strange, a lot of times I like b-sides better than the songs on the actual album, which is definitely the case with this.

COOL!!!:woot:B)

I'm going to see them here in AUS. I'm curious about the set list though! What songs did they open/close with? Did they play things off NO WOW?

Hi - they opened with 'U R A Fever' and closed with 'Fried My Little Brains' if I remember correctly. They definitely played 'No Wow' and maybe one other song off the No Wow CD, but their set was mainly stuff from Midnight Boom and 'Kissy Kissy' and 'Fried My Little Brains' off Keep On Your Mean Side.

The show was awesome! You will love it! It was the best show I've ever been to and well I'm only a teenager, but I've been to about 100 concerts and that was my favourite one so far. I might be bias though because they are my favourite band.

Did you order the 10'' or did you find a different copy?

I've been waiting for someone to upload them, but so far no such luck.

No luck for me either.

How was the crowd in Auckland Nouvelle Vague? In Paris the kids were totally crazy, I can say I nearly died! I still feel frustrated and angry about it... I hope I'll got to see them again in better conditions.

^Yes the crowd was absolutely crazy. I have bruises all over my legs and hips still (it was worth it though). When the support act came on everyone was okay, but the minute they got off stage everyone surged forward and I was so squashed. I literally couldn't move, because I was in the front row, so I just got pushed into the stage. It annoyed me so much because there was no point everyone pushing, because no one could move forward. And I was wearing a beaded waistcoat that I had just paid $200 for the other day and someone knocked all the beads off and it was boiling hot. Apparently no one after the first few rows of people could see anything, because everyone was so packed in the front.

After a while you begin to forget about the crowd, but I would like to see them again in a not so pushy crowd.

That's crazy! That's actually what I'm expecting from the Horrors fans, actually.. which is why I'm not so amped that they're the openers. Fans of the Kills here (un?)fortunately aren't that crazy.

Yeah, I bought the 10". I think that you can download the songs from the domino records site, though.

I was waiting for these scans! thanks! :D

Nouvelle Vague, why do you wear beautiful and expensive clothes at gigs?! That's insane! lol No need to be stylish if you ask me, you'll end up totally messed up and sweaty just the same.
