The Lips thread, all you need to ask and know...

I just bought today a lip balm (combine with gloss) from Biotherm , I really like their products, I also got a normal lip gloss of biotherm and its really good

anyone ever use clinique's almost lipstick? i've tried it before, but it seems to disappear from my lips really quickly..has this happened to anyone else?

I love Biotherm gloss too:smile: Their number 110 is my favourite at the moment.

Can I just say that I hate all Chanel lip products? I love their foundation, eyeshadow and bronzer but the lipsticks and glosses...

*the colours are too hard, too bright and too old

*the formulations don't feel good on

*the shimmery ones have a really hard glitter

*the look they give reminds of well-to-do older European ladies on a night out at the opera.

Chanel in general overall has that sort of image to me; I don't mean to be blunt (and I'm not one to be taken too seriously), but Chanel's logo/designs/colors give me the impression of a very proper and prissy lady.

I have tried their foundation and lip glosses, and I think they are a tiny bit overpriced for the quality. But that still doesn't keep me from buying their cosmetics from time to time...

I stopped buying that product in high school. I'm not surprised to hear of such a complaint.

Does anyone know if you can buy Dr. Pepper lipbalm/gloss over the 'net?
I am in NZ, and they don't even sell Dr. Pepper here...

I have also heard that Sephoras "city lips" lip gloss has the make lips bigger effect. It costs about 30 euros.

apparently some people use this on their breasts & nipples!!!!! so they look better under very thin shirts and dresses (?!?:(huh: I guess it must work in that case????

If anyone knows something about this....do let us know :flower:

It is called Almost Lipstick precisly because it´s has a lighter consistency than a lipstick. If you want something that lasts go for more time, use a regular lipstick or the one´s claimed to be longlasting, instead.

Okay, this has been asked before on the MKA thread with no real answer, so I'll ask again: Where can I find a gloss in a similar colour?

I stopped by a MAC counter today to test out their longlasting lip gloss. I put a bit of it on my hand before moving on to look at their foundations. Then when given a tissue with makeup remover, I couldn't get the darn lip gloss of my hand. It came off a LITTLE but even now, hours later, it's still there. And it didn't smudge either. Very crisp line according to how I applied it. I guess they proved their case.

I can't remember if I was just thining of asking this or if I have actually asked this already: Has anyone tried Lipfusion, and if so, does it work?

I was wondering if anyone else has tried lip fusion -- that new lip gloss that was given the good housekeeping seal of approval and winning raves everywere. It has micro collagen that is absorbed by your lips and then it plumps using your actualy body water.....And it has a sheer gloss with a slight orange and vanilla taste...really nice.

I just bought it but it is $40!!!! and i'm not sure if i visually see a difference or not. Ppl have said it definitely works and i have to say when i put it on, my lips start to get numb....the effects of plumping is supposed to last like hours -- unlike DuWop's lip venom which is temporary....

So -- anyone else try it? Wondering what you thought!!
you can check it out on their website too: lipfusion.com

I tried that, or something like it, when getting a mini makeover at Sephora. Loved the effect, but don't know that they were really bigger or maybe just seemed bigger. I didn't know that that was what it was for, but I remember looking in the mirror after she applied it and thinking "wow, my lips look so full!".

I am pretty sure that in Mac you can find something like that.
Or maybe at Sephora...Dior and Ysl glosses usually have a lot of colour in them, find a a counter and test, test, test. Fuschia is the key. :flower:

With the new Landcome duo long lasting lipstick/ gloss... what are the best colours? xox

I agree. Also testing is important because every shade looks a tiny bit (or sometimes a lot) different on every person. It somewhat depends on the natural color of your lips and of your face. Also, you might have to blend/layer 2 or 3 products to achieve this look. So start testing. Sephora is perfect for this. Bring that pic and go up to a saleslady and ask for help. They love to do that kind of thing. Or at least they pretend to, it's their job.

Pinksatin is exactly right. You probably need to layer since most lipglosses aren't pigmented enough to achieve that look alone, and if they are, the effect is more opaque and saturated.

First stain your lips lightly with something sheer and crimson like Benetint or a light coat of L'occitane's red tinted balm (Groseille). Then layer a clear reddish gloss on top of this like Juicy Tubes #15 (Cerise) or the red YSL Baume d'Ete (maybe even a completely clear gloss will work ) and you got it.

These are just the products that go with my own skintone, but try and experiment with subtle differences to find what suits you. Good luck!

I tried City Lips and for me it works (I think)! They have it in different colors but I tried the transparant one. I felt the gloss 'tingled' my lips and they became a bit 'swollen' and more red... Well maybe that's just me, 'cause a friend of me also tried it and she didn't feel a thing (but she has much thicker lips:(innocent:

I just splurged and got two of their colored glosses and two pencils. I've used, and been happy with the clear gloss. I put it on before I apply my makeup so it has a chance to work before I put on Chanel lipliner and color before going to work. For me, Lipfusion really works. The new colored glosses and pencils are great, since now I won't have to apply a different product to get color. Lipfusion isn't going to make you look like Angelina, but, for me, it made a difference and feels/tastes wonderful.
