The MAC Makeup Thread

Apparently the new Dazzleglasses are going to be in store today...and of the newbies, Utterly Posh, Stop Look, and Goldyrocks (IIRC) are limited-edition.

Also they are going to be releasing some new Trip palettes soon. I am really wanting the cool eyes as it has Waternymph and Springtime Skipper. Heck, I want them all.

^ i want the cool palette and the classic eye and cheek palette. I cant resist pink blush!

^I'm really interested in these palettes, where is everyone finding the info for this release? There's no info (that I can find) on the Mac website

^The Trip stuff is never available on the MAC site, I found out on Makeup and Beauty Blog. Temptalia also has it up but many of the finishes are wrong. I am definitely for all three eye palettes, as well as the warm lips and maybe the cool lips. As far as the face ones go...heck, I don't care that the shadows are mostly lustres.

Too bad I know nobody flying internationally-since this is only available at duty-free stores inside the airports. The first collection was not only palettes, but they had a 3-pack of clear Lipglass as well as 3-packs of assorted Lustreglass and Liquidlast-all of which I have seen at the CCO.

I read somewhere that Mac did this limited edition one thousand pieces only for NYC fashion week russian red? or something like that? does anyone have any info on that? its similiar to russian red but its not russian red!!! i completely forgot what its called....

trista (or anyone)- have you tried the dazzleglass? is it as sticky as lipglass?

i loved some of the coral/oranges today, but my store was too packed for me to bother trying them on. it was ***es to elbows, srsly.

^There have been many instances in which there have been super-exclusive items. There was Pink Daslu lipstick, which was a Brazil exclusive, the Elie Saab palette, which was in the Oscars gift bag a few years ago, the infamous Judy Blue eyeshadow, the Morrissey stuff (which may have been an Australia exclusive). I doubt they will be reproduced and eBaying them is going to be tough.

As for Dazzleglasses: yes, they are sticky. I like the stickiness sometimes but when it's windy it is NOT fun. I find that lipglasses can be a bit less sticky sometimes but I haven't tried the newer ones. The stickiness is the only downside though, well that and the fact that you won't get much colour payoff-they are definitely more about the glitter. I love them, they also make your lips look bigger, especially the ones with blue pearl.

I NEVER go to MAC on weekends-when I do go, it's in the early afternoon, middle of the week.

hm...sounds like they aren't for me.

i want to do a strong coral lip. any suggestions?

i'm also obsessed with a strong peach cheek (not wearing these two together, obv). i'm very fair, and love beauty powders. i can gradually layer the color and the intensity is usually enough. i bought the HK LE beauty powder (tahitian sand) in hopes of having the same look i get from the heatherette LE beauty powder (alpha girl), which is a very saturated, almost-clear wash of color, if that makes sense. tahitian sand doesn't show up anywhere near as bright as alpha girl, even with layer and fades quickly.

gingerly is too orange for me (my mom wears it, so i've experimented), so is there anything else i can layer it with to get that bright, clear color i get from alpha girl? i haven't had great luck with MAC powder blushes (i'm not a fan of the consistency), but i'll try one or a cream blush (i've never tried those from MAC) if it can give me that look.

^ Yes on the strong coral ... I use Profusion and really love it. Wore it today in fact ;) I have several MAC corals (kept trying to get it right), and this is my favorite.

I need a gloss to go with though ... if anyone has a recommendation.

is fleur power a powder blush or a cream?

what is profusion? lipstick, gloss?

i've worn MAC forever, but never tried their lipstick until this year (i have never worn lipstick on a regular basis) and i really love the consistency of their lipstick. it's smooth and soft and does not feel heavy at all.

For a good coral lip, you absolutely need Vegas Volt. It's got enough red in it to make it look easily wearable but it is a coral, no doubt about it. I got it for Christmas and love it to death.

They are powder & lipstick ... let me know if you want me to check the exact type.

has anyone tried the finishing powder? Is it any better than blot powder or msfn to set makeup?

I haven't tried it yet, a lot of people say that it's basically Invisible Set powder with a couple extra things in a smaller package. If I get money I am hoping to go and try it when I go for Rose Romance.
