I want to get my first MAC eye shadow, but I don't know where to start. Help?

I have a lot of colors lying around, but I honeslty don't know what suits me the best. Maybe I need honeyish colors? I have pale, warm-toned skin (basically most fair or ivory foundations are too pink on me). I also have brown-black hair, so contrast suits me okay.

I never use a single color all the time, except for a shimmery white shadow by Mary Kay. Does MAC have something similar?

Tushka_Bella I was at the MAC store a few days ago and I asked about the palettes and they told me that I could buy them and also that every almost all eyeshadows come both in pots and refills. I didn't see them anywhere in the store but if you ask about them I'm sure that they'll tell you about them.
I have more than 60 MAC eyeshadows lying around so I asked if I can depot them and put them in palettes. They said that I can but it's hard and that they suggest that I shouldn't do it and that it's better to just leave them in their pots. I decided to leave them as they are and I got a 15 pan palette and filled it with new e/s.

those pallettes are only available in MAC PRO Stores, only in selected cities it seems. there are many depotting tutorials, especially on that site where you git the pic from

So basically I have to buy an empty pallette from a MAC PRO store, and depot my own eyeshadows/blushes into it? Does the pallette come with a lid?

yes it does (but a black non see thru lid), there's also a 4 pan palette with a clear lid. the best would be some research on the specktra forum, should have tons of threads about that topic

pavement I suggest you try Shroom as your first shadow.

Shroom is a great color that I use to highlight my brow bone. I love it.

On another note, now I was to return my eyeshadow Amazon Raquel Welch kit! I only like 2 of the colors. I think I'm so lazy, I'll probably never go back and return it.

I bought that few days ago, and its also my first time to buy a MSF. I applied it yesterday just for fun while I was bored, it gave me a nice glow and my skin looked airbrushed. Just like your bf said a "TV-skin"

I only applied it on my nose, cheeks, and forehead. Anyone has any idea where else it could be applied?

I've been thinking of buying MSF, but I'm worried that the shimmer-particles are too noticable? Because then it wouldn't be any good for day (which is when I need it).

Aww, I'm on the mac website right now and I'm looking for a powder but cannot decide which to take.

Normally I use powder over make-up, is it necessary to wear a primer under mac powder?

And I don't like too much shimmer on my face but rather a velvet matte skin. Which powder should I buy?
