The MAC Makeup Thread

The other thing is that the CCB is going to be a bit of a heavier formulation. It's thicker than the blushcremes, and definitely thicker than UDPP, since it comes in a pot and not a (very wasteful) bottle. It's a shame that more people don't go for the CCB's, because they are really nice...but yes, they aren't the least intimidating product in the book. They've discontinued a lot of the coloured ones, however some you can still find, and the Pro stores do sell more-so you could even do coloured bases that way.

i consider buying macs compact powder, any experiences with that? is it good?

can anyone please kindly recommend me a must have eyeshadow brush...i am pretty lousy with numbers and the brush i had got dented ( dont ask me how) , i want something that its easy and blendable, any recommendations? thanks in advance:flower:

It depends on what you want. For basic application, I like the 213 and the 275. I also like the 231 for small areas, and I have heard good things about the 239 as well. For large areas, like an all-over wash or for Paints, I do like the 252, even though it is a bit large.

239 is the basic must-have, and it's my favorite application brush. Also the 217 if you need a good blending brush.

I've used Studio Fix powder for so long. It's great coverage, although a lot of people say that it's not good for acne-prone skin (I've never had a problem with it though).

I missed the boat on the Ungaro collection and they had Brow Set in 'Mink' which I really wanted to try...is it worth calling around (UK) and asking if they might have it or do they send LE stuff back when new LE collections come in? I hope that makes sense :)

@peacelover

Many counters still do have leftovers from LE collections for awhile after the display is taken down-so it is definitely worth your time to ask around. They might RTV some of those products...but some do stick around. I got Tropic Glow slimshine 2 months after Cool Heat launched, and a month after that, the Freestanding I went to still had a couple of the shadows and most of the Slimshines left from that collection.

A lot of people over at specktra seem to think this 25% off promotion means they'll delay the launch of BBR until the 9th. I'm debating whether it's worth it to order a few things online considering I'll still have to pay shipping and in the end won't be saving that much.

Any recommendations for a gold e/s, pref pot form over pigment, heading to MAC tomorrow, and gold is not one of my usual colours to wear so I have no clue where to start.
I'm pale, with blue eyes if that helps :p

I caved and ordered bulk wipes, 209 brush, soft ochre paint pot and select cover-up online... Fortunately I'm going to B2M for the only things I want from BBR so I'm not totally emptying my bank account.

I am not doing the F&F, for obvious reasons. I would get Gold Deposit, Heat/Element, Petticoat, Nuance, and Lady Bug if I had the funds though...

I'm a big fan of Goldmine for a really nice gold shadow. It's a nice true gold, and it has amazing texture. I can't live without it.

kinda side tracking Trista, which would be a good pink blush for me?
a. the Blonde MSF from the BBR collection
b. Pretty Baby beauty powder from Hello kitty
c. Tippy blush from Hello Kitty
thank you ahead :flower:

btw i miss Alpha girl, Hollywood Night, Lollipop loving from Heatherette and Porcelain Pink/Lightscapade MSF...

I'm heading to the counter today and will probably pick up Goldmine, thanks :)

As far as which one to get, it's really like comparing apples to oranges to grapes. Tippy looks to be a nice, true pink, but if you don't normally do brighter blush shades I would recommend instead to go with Pink Swoon, which is permanent. Pretty Baby is a repromote, and it looks to be similar to Alpha Girl, except more subdued. Finally, Blonde looks to be very pink, and the best of the three MSF's. It all depends on what type of finish you personally like, and how much colour you usually go for. I would, honestly, get them all, but Tippy would be the first one to go otherwise.

I don't miss Hollywood Nights too much...as I have it and a backup and rarely touch it anymore. I never really reach for Lollipop Lovin', and Alpha Girl I mainly use during the summer.

I'm thinking of getting into the pigments and one of the paints. I have green eyes, fair skin and dark brown hair - which of the pigments (1-2 of them) would you suggest for me? I appreciate any help you could give me!!!
