The MAC Makeup Thread

The lipglasses are more of a pearl-sure, they do have glitter, but it's not like a Dazzleglass. I so would die for Plasma Blu...I skipped all the NSF polishes and I am finding myself wanting both Mercenary and Violet Fire. Upon closer look and under the bright lights at the counter, Mercenary is VERY sparkly, while Violet Fire is bright, bright purple and very frosty.

Bright Future is definitely the must-have though, from when I first saw the very first promo picture with Eugenia and the yellow shadow, I was sold.

does anyone know if Fashion Scoop Cremesheen glass is permanent collection? if not i have to stock up, i think its going to be one of my HG's!

They are definitely limited-edition. They are in the Goodbyes section of the MAC site. Speaking of goodbyes...there is a LOT going away. 8 slimshines, the 272, Strada blush, Little VI Lustreglass, Nico lipglass...and I heard there's 250 SKU's being phased out.

Although the good news is that I just swapped to get a full jar of Rose Gold pigment (the metal) as well as a Salsabelle CCB.

^ thanks Trista. i remember they used to label all the LE stuff next to the color but now they dont do it it seems. i need to stock up!

im surprised they are doing away with Nico, its soo soo so old school to me lol reminds me of my first experiences with MAC.

i wished they didnt change the color of Cultured lipglass, it used to be more lavendar now its more medium pink. wearable but kind of boring... i look back of pictures of me wearing it and it was such an amazing unique color.

i wish i had gotten Angel blush before it dc-ed!

If you look on the MAC Pro site, you can't buy but you can tell what is on its way out. Speaking of the PRO line, so much is going...I'm annoyed about the loose beauty powders going away, I love those. A lot more CCB's are going, too. I have so many I want to get...Salsabelle will serve me well though.

I think they're trying to get the lipglasses reformulated-the permanent ones at least-because the Style Warriors one I have is way less sticky than my beloved Silly Girl.

lipglasses were definitely more sticky when i used to wear in highschool. i gave Cultured another try on a whim and was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt as sticky BUT the color was different. its looks nice on me luckily but i just miss that lavendar pink/pinkish lavender color, shiny but not super shimmery.

i wished they would make more nice Lustreglass colors and permanent Cremesheens.

i think there are nice lipglass colors but since they are still stickier i dont even bother checking them out :(

dazzleglasses arent as sticky as i expected. i dont find them sticky upon application but very when they color wears off after a while...

I have to say I don't own any permanent lipglasses, and the only Lustreglasses I own are from Little Darling sets. They definitely redid the Dazzleglasses, though. There's a huge change because I have 6 from the original launch and 3 new ones. For this reason, a lot of people like Lipgelees.

I checked out all the new stuff at Nordstrom's today, and there were no must-haves that jumped out at me (granted, they were sold out of some things, so maybe those would have been ;)). I saw the quad, purple nail polish, etc. Just got Strawberry Blonde lipgloss as I needed a coral.

I can imagine a lot of SW stuff selling out, the quad probably won't though as it is fairly dupeable. Naked Honey probably will sell well because they're all very wearable colours, but I don't think I'll have enough empties for that one. I'm hoping to have enough to get a few Euroistocrats lipsticks though.

i ordered two Fashion Scoop Cremesheens because im just in love with the color and non-stickyness. i think Fashion Scoop is what ive always wanted Underage to be. then i was like ugh i dont wanna pay for shipping so i went ahead and got the MSF Natural in Light. im like an NW15(pinkie undertones) so i hope it works out for me. my total was $61 and you need $60 for free shipping. JEAHHH! :D

my sister's friends friend gets like 40% off but we're not ordering with her until middle or end of summer. so in the meantime i'll only be buying 'necessities'.

Sure, necessities...

I am hoping if I get the job that I am interviewing for next week that I will have a paycheck by the time Naked Honey comes out. If I do, I will get Queen Bee and Pollinator. They're great everyday colours that are good three-season colours (summer through winter), although I am skipping the body products. If it is really good, I might get a highlight powder. I've heard these are the best highlight powders yet.

On the note of highlight powders, I am pissed that they are getting rid of the Beauty Powders.

There's an interesting set on the MAC site-it's the Perfect Style brush set, and it retails for $125. It has full-sizes of the 168, 187, 222, and 266, in a brush case-for $2 more than buying all the brushes separately. However the CCO has an older version of it (it was a Sak's exclusive, or so I heard) for $88.

^ ;)

seriously, my sister just emailed me about blue eyeliner and sheer blue lipgloss that makes teeth whiter(old version of Cultured made my teeth whiter because of the bluish undertone)... ive been eyeing MAC's Deep Truth e/s since foeva eva? lol i think i'll put that and the 219 pencil brush on my WishList. itll double as shadow and liner :D

which reminds me i should start using Electrolady liquid last again, its so pretty but i always forget that i have it!

i swear MAC gets rid of the good stuff all the time, its so boo boo.

Well speaking of Electrolady, it got the chop. I posted on my blog a list of all the goodbyes that I know about so far, there could be more that have already sold out-but the Beauty Powders irk me the most. They are getting rid of potted blushes and eyeshadows at the Pro level, which does make sense. At first I thought that it would be a bad move to sell just the pans and palettes, but you look at Stila which does it like that.

Deep Truth is a really nice shadow to have as it's a dark blue but there is no mistaking it for black. I have it in the Manish palette and don't touch it often, admittedly, but it is good to have on hand. As for the 219, that's a brush that I see as essential (okay, I have an Avon dupe of it).

I mean, I can understand WHY the BP's are going-for most people they are way too shimmery, however I like to use it right on the top of the cheekbone and then under the brow. I'm also lucky that the CCO still has some since well, let's face it, they aren't the most popular thing ever. However I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a LOT of great colours getting the chop. I am very tempted to get a Pro Pan of Clarity since even though I don't tend to like mattes, it would be good as a liner. Newly Minted, I can pass on. If Bright Sunshine goes, I will personally fly to the headquarters.

SW and naked honey don't appeal to me at all.

its very easy to go into mac and be overwhelmed by their permanent collection.

That is the EXACT reason why I do not have Lovestone in my collection...*kicks self*

As far as colours go, I could have a very easy fall as it's looking to be dark eyes again, and I don't really do darks. The new Studio Moisture Tints are something I would try, since I do like tinted moisturizers. I do want both of the Graphic Garden eye palettes though. As far as Euroistocrats 2, I have to get two of each LE Dazzleglass since I know Via Veneto will not last. I have less than a centimeter left of Pleasure Principle:cry:

definitely stock up! i love fashion scoop but i bought it in march and it's already finished

I tend to stick to buying LE stuff as well, however if I have extra money and there is stuff from an LE collection that I don't want I will tend to buy a permanent item or two. I also tend to put perm items on lists for Christmas and my birthday, so I don't spend as much out-of-pocket on them.

something went wrong with my order  *headache*
i think there are still some Fashion Scoops at my local MAC, the guy working there said they will still be getting some more Cremesheens in... ill check that out when i can if not i'll try again with the MAC site.

today i was totally in love with my Baby Sparks Dazzleglass

Well speaking of Electrolady, it got the chop.

Electrolady is one of those i love to have because although not for everyday(for me anyways ;) ) its still so pretty for special occasions. its a shame its a goner too!

so Deep Truth looks almost black? i avoid black eyeshadows like the plague lol im pretty pale, not that pale girls cant rock it but it doesnt fit my style of makeup. id probably go for a dark purple or burgundy for smokey-darker looks or as crease/contour.

i definitely want the 219! it would be great to get some use out of my bright eyeshadows as liners, so i can do colorful looks more often with out being too much.

I will definitely be getting a few of the chopped LL liners at the CCO when they arrive, that's for sure-they actually stay on when I am out tanning but right now, I only have Pinkcraft.

Deep Truth is not black-it's like a navy blue with a brighter blue pearl. I'm with you there on blacks. The closest to a black that I own is Beauty Marked (in Gem Eyes), and I still have trouble with it. I would never get Carbon or anything like that. I really like Star Violet and Plum Dressing for crease/liner colours.

For a lower liner, I actually find that the 212 or 231 work really well. The 212 is great because I have very long lower lashes, and the 231 gets a super-fine line-not to mention that it also is great for applying shadows for detailed looks.

Dazzleglasses are definitely awesome for the summer though-I am nearly out of Ms. Fizz and Pleasure Principle, which were my go-tos, and Extra Amps is already getting a lot of love. In no way is it an acceptable dupe for Ms. Fizz-it lacks the pigmentation, even though there is even more glitter.
