The MAC Makeup Thread

I don't know if I got it-they'll call this weekend. I am just blanketing area stores though to get applications out and hopefully be hired soon:) Thanks for your well wishes, you have no idea how much they mean to me.

Rose Romance actually mostly sold out at the flagship Nordie's-all the See-Thru lip colours, the gel blush, the eyeshadows, and Magnetique. I skipped the shadows because I went for the quad, and I also have way too much similar-however if I see Silverthorn, it will be mine. :ninja:

For a black for me, I use Urban Decay's Zero. I don't have any sort of MAC black, the closest is Cloudburst which works for my blue looks. For my brows though, I actually use the 204 (the spooly brush). It's cheap, and it works-I have VERY thick brows. I tend to get them waxed when I have the money, but I take pride in my thick brows. I may occasionally use wax but powder, no thank you. They are darker than my hair so anything coloured on them looks kinda gauche.

so whats the final verdict on the rose romance c-thru colors now that its been out for a while? will it stay on for a long time?

I didn't get to try them, Lucy. I won't know if I got the job or not for awhile, and the displayers will probably be down here soon as Naked Honey comes out next Thursday. I was hoping that Nordie's would have it out to preview, but they didn't.

Oh and yesterday, when my mum bought me Solar Riche, I got to see the preview book for Graphic Garden. The entire collection will be the palettes, lip bags, brush sets, and Look Boxes. I'm getting Sweet Tease for sure, the palettes I will wait on since they ALWAYS clog up the CCO. I'm on the fence about the brush sets. They had BETTER be a higher quality than the holiday and HK ones.

speaking of sticky lipglosses. i think i'll be sticking to Cremesheens from now on, i loveee the consistency!

I think what you may need to do is bombard MAC with emails telling them to bring them back. That's what happened with the Dazzleglasses, although I don't know if and/or when the Mattenes will be coming back even though it's been rumoured for ages. I certainly hope so-they are a very retro-matte finish. They just feel glamourous.

the_ida - you also might want to try a 267, which is small and precise to work with, but gives a pretty soft/natural finish. it's a MAC store exclusive, and it works wonders with fluidline. i am horrible at applying gel/cream/liquid liners and this made it easy as pie for me from day one. it was the best product a MAC SA has ever recommended to me.

i was talking about the original northern lights with someone and they said that one of the powders from sugarsweet was similar. does anyone know what those powders were...MSFs or beauty powders? i really don't pay much attention to things that aren't in LE packaging because then i'd been up to my ears in product, so i just try to stay away.

Sugarsweet was MSF's. Every big collection so far this year has seemed to have some sort of powder-Hello Kitty and Rose Romance had Beauty Powders, Sugarsweet and BBR had MSF's, Naked Honey has Highlight Powders, and Style Warriors had a lot of stuff. I think that you'd be comparing it to Refined, which is gorgeous. Coral veining and very low shimmer.

i looked on youtube and it jogged my memory - it's perfect topping. i'm too fair for redefined, and from the looks of perfect topping, i might be too fair for it as well, but it will be worth inquiring about at my MAC.

i love powders! i would buy them all if i could, but i've barely hit pan on my heatherette alpha girl and i wear it almost every single day. after that, i still have tahitian sand to get through.

We don't have MAC stores in DK, unfortunately, but I already have a brush for every eyeliner imaginable. I don't even know what brand it is, but it's brilliant.

I decided to go with the 208 brush because it was smaller...and got Blacktrack too ^_^

^ lol it was smaller! let me know if it's good hehe , I was looking at my brows today thinking they have sparse patches that need filling in more precisely now I've noticed ! (Obviously just an excuse to buy more Mac products..)

Naked Honey is now online...however, the MAC website has a Friends & Family thing coming up soon. It's either this weekend or next, and it's 25% off an online order. I definitely hope that I get the job I am interviewing for today, as I need some pro pans BADLY.

Are the mac contouring/highlighting powders worth having? Especially the highlighting, I have NARS albatross but I want to get more matte finishes so just wondering if anyone uses these & likes them ^_^

I have one thats half and half and I like it a lot, its the best I've tried. The colors look very very natural.

Friends and Family sale will be next week, Tuesday the 16th to Thursday the 18th. 25% off. Free shipping over $60. Code is SUMO.

i wish they were honoring this in-stores as well. i have a feeling the site is going to crash. people are buzzing about this at nearly every forum.

I am going to see if my mum wants to put together an order for me, because I'm dying for some pro pans, and they'll be $8.25 a pop. I at least need Beautiful Iris, Stars 'n Rockets, and then two of Goldmine, Coppering, or Cranberry.

Today I bought Freshwater eyeshadow. It's so gorgeous. And I got the black liquid eyeliner.

I'm interested in some vibrant purple shades. I already have Parfait Amour and Beauty Marked. Which others are good?

Vibrant Grape is a very good one. A lot of people like Creme de Violet but the staying power is awful. Urban Decay's Fishnet and Ransom are insane, and Stars 'n Rockets is very vibrant as well. I also like Plum Dressing, but it is more subdued.

Does anyone use their eye pencils on the inside part of the eyelid?
I'm searching for a white pencil as well as a black one that will apply well, and stick all day.
The one I have, from Rimmel, applies really faint and then fades off.
