The MAC Makeup Thread

i used VAE and i thought it was OK. i have very clear, soft skin though, so i wasn't wowed by the results. my skin was soft, but since it always is i can't really say it made a load of difference.

the greasepaint stick isn't wowing me either, but i have to experiment with it more i guess. it surprisingly flaked off a bit yesterday, which was odd to me since i'd read that you MUST smudge immediately after applying because it doesn't budge after it dries. this was not the case for me.

How do people rate the exfoliators? & I read the volcanic ash stuff is limited edition....i went into a mac store but couldnt see it--is it still avail? :flower:

the VAE is LE as of now, but with all the hooplah, i wouldn't be surprised if it eventually makes an permanent appearance. many people are wowed by VAE. it was good, but like i said, i am probably not the best person to experiment with.

i will say the granules/abrasion is minimal, so it would probably work well for someone with sensitive skin.

Which brushes do you guys recommend for eyeshadow? Blending etc etc.

The all range sounds amazing....to wear it and improve your appearance and have the look of wearing nothing is the ultimate goal

lily pulitzer? that sounds like a bomb waiting to go off. ew.

trista - the dsquared lip erase seems interesting, but what the hell do i do with it irl? i think i'm getting the lighter sculpt and shape, the greasepaint and that's all.

i was wondering about the same product...found something interesting on youtube that talks about lip erase http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27ZMbFN8E-g

and here is a detailed blog post about the product.

Is there anything that's worth getting in the holiday collection? Or is it a pass? Thanks!

I love their latest lipstick color cyber.

A dark eggplant/grape type purple.

So amazing and dramatic.

I'm hoping that there will be some nice brush sets from the holiday collection available in little Denmark...and I just ordered the Face & Body Foundation in N1. That is it for me until the new cream blushes come out :(

omg, LOVE the pixiwoo girls! So, I stopped by mac today and picked up a tube of paint, just on a whim. I usually like to check makeupalley before I buy things, but didn't this time. Do any of you guys use it, do you like it, how do you use it??

i tried the VAE too and the sugar granules melt so fast... i hardly get ANY good scrubbing done before they are gone.

lackluster

The new creme blush is called Cremeblend Blush...it's out January 7th, but it's apparently LE? I don't even know if it's coming to Europe.

they are finally bringing back brow set in mink. i NEED this, as showoff is way too light for me and turns my brows a freakish copper color.

i am searching fot the perfect light, natural brown for the eyelid crease. just when i want to look very natural. i was thinking about symmetry, but maybe it is too dark? i am not sure
any suggestions?

got a sample of Lip Erase. hell, it dries my lips out....

I tried the Lip Erase in the store and ended up buying it. I also read as many reviews of it as I could find and everyone recommended the same thing. Your lips have to be well moisturized. I've found that if you put Vaseline on your lips the night before that helps. Also (with well moisturized lips) try putting it on right when you are starting to put on your make-up so it has time to sort of melt into your lips. And put on a tiny bit of chap-stick before touch ups. Hopefully that helps.

^^ i always use a lipbalm before applying the lip erase. if you put a coat of gloss on top it looks really great and keeps your lips hydrated.
