The MAC Makeup Thread

i am searching fot the perfect light, natural brown for the eyelid crease. just when i want to look very natural. i was thinking about symmetry, but maybe it is too dark? i am not sure
any suggestions?
:flower::flower:

Wedge is a popular choice (but I can barely get this to show up ) but I like Era much better for this kind of look ^_^

i would suggest wedge too, but like miu_miu said, it might be too light for some.

i have a great stila color for this, but what bugs me is it has slight shimmer and i prefer something totally matte for this look.

they are finally bringing back brow set in mink. i NEED this, as showoff is way too light for me and turns my brows a freakish copper color.

Is this part of a collection?

I've used the clear one before, and it didn't have enough hold for me. Are the tinted ones any different?

I finally received the Face & Body Foundation :woot:

Holy moly, I love this! You can't tell that I'm wearing anything at all, and the coverage is waaaay better that I expected. I applied it with a crappy synthetic blush brush, but it was surprisingly easy to work with. It is a bit dark for me (I got N1), but it's so easy to blend out that you don't really notice. I actually don't set this with powder, I like that natural glow you get from it

fashionista-ta - i love the brow set in mink because it grooms and darkens in one swoop. i have fairly thick brows that arch and seemingly groom themselves (i get them waxed 1-2 times a year). i forget how i started using brow set, but once i did, i couldn't believe i never darkened my brows before. my hair is already dark, and this just gives them a really polished look. showoff is meant for brunettes, but it's a little too brown/shiny for me. mink works best. i forget what collection it was originally released with years ago (seriously 3-4 years ago), and i bought two. i ended up ordering one from ebay later down the line from tokyo, and between those three, i finally ran out last spring. i fell out of the mac loop for awhile, but it was also released in the ungaro collection. unfortunately, i didn't scoop it up, but you can be sure i grab five when it's released with the all collection in january.

i too have used clear and while it grooms beautifully, i really like the impact of slightly darker brows. it just looks a little more pristine.

temptalia shows mink as a permanent under the all collection, but i've been told at several stores around the globe that it's LE and they once they're out or send it to CCOs, it's over with.

the_ida - fantastic! i want to try face & body foundation after seeing a great tutorial on youtube. it really does look lightweight and leaves a flawless finish. do you think it would be lightweight (feeling) enough for someone who typically doesn't wear foundation?

It is very lightweight. It's almost as if it isn't there - you can't see it and you can't feel it. Oh, and it's very moisturizing as well. I just love that! My cheeks and forehead can get so dry.

Could you post a link to that tut? I'm very curious to see different ways of applying it

i'll try to find it.

i think she put it on with a sponge and then dabbed over it with a 188 or 187 to soften the look. she goes on and on about how full coverage it is, yet it feels like she has nothing on. i definitely want to try it! i also get dry on my forehead, which is super gross if you aren't careful. i usually apply mario badescu's bee pollen night cream just to that spot where i dry out (center of my forehead) and then apply makeup over it and it works perfectly.

i really like this girl. for one, she's an adult (not to knock any teens, i just get tired of hearing the word "like" every three seconds) and she's very clear with her directions. her other vids are good too. enjoy!

I tried to get through her tut, which was pretty good, but I just can't stand her accent  She does seem very nice and knowledgeable.

I've noticed that the pixiwoo girls use the 109 brush, and I've started using a similar brush for it. It's actually very nice. If you use a less lightweight foundation you can still use the 109, just spray your face and the brush with water/whatever facial spray you like. It makes your skin look so smooth!

Here is a tut on that as well :D

i just wanted to say that i bought Era and i love it! it's perfect! thanks so much for the advice.

Anyone else find the smell of StudioFix fluid very offputting? I got a sample but didn't purchase. It smelt way too chemically for my liking! Shame though as my friend wears it and it gives gorgeous coverage on her.

true, it smells chemical, but I don't smell it once it's on my face, or it fades away too quickly for me to notice. it doesn't bother me enough to stop using it

anyway, my warm pigment set was shipped from Germany, so I'll be getting it in around 2 days, that's 12 days faster than the release date in Vienna... lol

I bought Russian Red lipstick a couple weeks ago and can't stop wearing it all the time! It is crazy when you wear it with nearly no make-up. I mean only that color on your lips, nothing on your eyes, a little blush on your cheeks. I have pale, white skin and this red works better on white skin.

i THINK their brush cleaner is not good I wont buy it again it might contains too much alcohol and then dryes up the skin when using the brush

ME TOO! I bought it several months ago and love it to pieces, which is so weird considering I've never been happy with any of the other MAC lipsticks I've bought.
I usually wear it with just tinted moisturizer and mascara and it looks fab

I use it and don't have any real problems with the smell - but I swear it has a tendency to really dry out my face :s However, when it does work it makes my skin look flawless!

Studio fix fluid is really great but tend to dry up so make sure your face is hydrated
