The many ways to wear a scarf

I will have to try the knotted look, I haven't been giving my Hermes the love they deserve lately:) Thanks for sharing that.

I like to tie silk scarves around my luggage when travelling! never expensive ones though, incase they get lost!
I also like to tie them around my bag, and using them as a belt is a good idea!

That's a good idea, I bet it helps you find your stuff later!

what is the best way to wear a scarf if you have got a small head? like some technique that gives the illusion of a longer neckline...?

I like the way that Anna does it here (Getty IMages)

You guys should definately try these out. Image is from americanapparel. It's made with their circular scarf (scarf with no ends) but I'm pretty sure some of these can be made with a normal scarf.

great thread, I often do something similar like the figure 8 top above with a floaty scarf over my bikini on hols

I just drape them around my neck, no double loops or anything, I just them them hang.

i've been doing this thing where i wrap around the neck once and then sort of tuck the ends and pull them through...
hard to explain...
but i like it...

I love wraping my scarves around my neck and knotting the end. I have tried wearing one around my head, but it never seems to stay right, any tips on how to make it work?

With large squares I fold them in half inside out and tie "bunny ear" knots at the corners. Then you can turn it right side out and run your arms through the holes and make kind of a scarf. Long rectangles I tie around my waist or hips. Then small ones I like to tie around my wrist or sometimes my ankle. I also use them to cover my hair when I didn't get a chance to wash it. Or I do a loose knot around the neck, like a girly necktie almost.

Fold a large square in the bias, until you have a long strip of silk. Place around your neck, and secure with a single knot and a bow. You can pull one side of the bow out, like in the attached pic.

On hot and humid days, you can wear your scarf as a belt. Fold it into a long stripe, and secure with a scarf ring or a double knot.

Slide through a scarf ring, both ends coming from opposite directions (here leaving one end shorter than the other)
