The Mascara Thread

^yes, I only use great lash on my lowers and on top and bottom on days I just want a tint and not a lot of volume/curl

had anyone tried Big Fatty by Urban Decay?
it sounds/looks lovely and i always thought (even though i dont use mascara anymore) that the thick bristle brushes give the most thickening dramatic affects.

I was told it is nothing special. The person that told me that is a huge UD fan, so I believe her.

I have been using hypnose and l'extreme. I have relatively long lashes but I could do with a little more volume, so what i have noticed on my lashes is that l'extreme makes them really long and noticeable and with the hypnose one i get very thick lashes which are once again noticeable. So its basically l'extreme for length and hypnose for volume, u decide which one will suit you since both of them will give u noticeable lashes, at least that was my case. :flower:

Thank you Vanilla I will go with Hypnose first.

Great Lash waterproof is nice for the price IMO, it does hold a curl (like every other WP mascara), but the regular version is crap

Maybelline lash stylist mascara is AMAZING

It is one that seperates and lengthens like magic. Just be sure to wipe off your wands before application.

rimmel magnif'eyes
love it. picked it up as a cheap one off for a night out & it's now a staple

The Big Fatty by Urban Decay is soooo clumpy. I will not use it for a while then decide to give it another try and ugh so disappointing everytime and I end up ruining my whole makeup! i need to just get rid of up so i stop hoping it will wont cuz it sucks!

^^ Hummm i wont be buying it then :D

right now im still on Stila Major Lash and i adoreeeee it!

Modelbehavior228 i don't know if you got the Diorshow mascara, but if you haven't go straight for the Blackout:heart: one. I bought it yesterday and LORD!!!:woot:... way better than Diorshow.

I dont like this mascara it doesnt make my eyelashes longer and sorta it looks like I have mess on my lashes and it has some effect of eyeliner that I dont like:angry:...I am going back to my Sisley Ultra-Volume Phyto-Mascara:heart:...

btw

who can say anything about lancome's mascaras never tried it so I am a bit curious;)

After using mascara everyday, do your lashes feel dry? Any recommendations on how to fix this problem? I heard that using a lash primer will protect the lashes. Which brand makes a good primer (like Clinique's Lash Building Primer or Lancome's Cils Booster)?

^ Apparently applying vaseline every night before you go to bed helps. Can't say I remember where I read that, some magazine, I assume.

Any opinions on YSL Faux Cils? I've wanted to try it for a while now, but just haven't gotten around to it.

I use Hypnose and I'm very happy with it. :)

amazing avatar, inhuman
i rotate YSL effet faux cils (non waterproof) with hypnose, YSL for winter and heavier makeup and hypnose for day wear.
YSL effet faux cils is by far the best heavy duty volumising mascara i tried (my lashes are sufficiently long and curved but light and sparse) - one caveat though:the waterproof variant irritated my eyes and seemed to add less volume than the non waterproof one.
strong colour, strong perfume as well (pleasant imo), great brush and unsurpassed volume without clumping or spider lashes.
the only thing i can't rave about is the price tag :flower:

Does anyone know of any mascaras that would be good for people with sensitive eyes? Using the Covergirl and other popular brands work well for my eyelashes but by the end of the day, my eyes are itching and red. Any advice or recomendations would be very appreciated!

Hey, i use Talika Lipocils Eyelash conditioning gel - it has made my eyelashes really soft again & does REALLY help make them longer & fuller!! I thought maybe it was just a fad, but it works a treat & the tube lasts ages - hence the £20 price tag
