The Mascara Thread

For cake mascaras, there are some reviews on MakeupAlley - i remember as i was thinking of it myself. Yes there is a cake mascara at Sephora... can't remmeber the name though.

I'm interested too. Can you really pile it on, or is it a natural look?

has anyone tried sisley's Phyto-Mascara Ultra-Volume or Phyto-Mascara Ultra FaCil ?

Another favorite of mine is Lancome's L'Extreme! Gives long black lashes, amazing!

I have short, averagethickness-to-fine, dark lashes.
I've been reading through this and it sure seems that Lancome L'extreme is best... but what should I use for my type of lashes?

Has anyone tried the new Diorshow Intense Black with Kohl? I saw the ad for it in the this month's Marie Claire and it looks really good.

The DiorShow looks really good, i was hoping someone could give feedback on it..... :)

I use DiorShow. It's pretty good. Stays on for hours and even after that I have to spend around 10 mintues getting it off. Costs $$$.

^ I have heard so much about Dior Show lately that I think I am going to try it. I hate the thought of spending a lot on mascara, but it will be worth it if it works well.

I want to buy YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils, but I'm kind of putting it off.

I was using it, and I have mix feelings about that, yes it's a good mascara when you already have long lashes, so I gave it to my mom, it suits her better, not alike to me. it's just my imho

now I want to try Sisley's Phyto-Mascara Ultra-Volume or Phyto-Mascara Ultra FaCil

I just bought Rimmel today, I originally planned to buy Lancome L'Extreme (after reading about it on this thread) but decided I wasn't going to pay $50 for my first mascara. I've been using heated eyelash curlers, and they've done me fine through the years

I just bought MaxFactor Masterpiece Max the other day. I'll always use Lancome white base mascara, and an eyelash curler, but I'm very happy with my purchase. Stays on well, no smudges, no flaking. If it's recommended by Pat McGrath, I trust her!

I have some Chanel cake mascara, and I'd say with enough skill, you could go either way.

I've been pretty pleased with Chanel Inimitable ... although it's a b*(&^ coming off (with MAC eye makeup remover).

I recently bought Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof in Black, I'm pretty impressed since it's so cheap compared to high end stuff... anyway, it has a nice small brush, no spiderlegs, no clumps, no flaking. holds my curl, natural look with one layer but buildable to dramatic. fantastic value for the price

Fav high End Mascaras: Dior and Awake
Mid Range: Benefit Get Bent and Clinique
Low Range: Avon, Max Factor

Really? I just take mine off in the shower and it's almost completely gone afterwards. Compared to Clinique mascaras it definitely is harder to take off, but I've had other ones that are way worse.

Maybelline Sky High Curves Waterproof definately holds a curl. But it only comes in black. I think it makes me look like a prostitute :ninja: But my lashes are long and curly, though.

I love Maybeliine Sky High Curves- a friend recommended it and I 've never gone back since!
I also use Maybelline great lash-been using it for years!
its always in InStyle's best beauty buys!

I used to use high end mascara-
Ysl and Dior Show but I stopped spending so much money on Mascara..they dry up faster IMO..
