Same here.

I've been coming back to this thread and everytime this situation
with Chanel_girl is just getting worse.
Ok, so some people don't believe her,and yes people have
expressed it more than one way, now can we go back to topic ?

Lets keep tfs as nice and clean as possible.
Just don't want this to turn into the usual " junior high " - ish
forum like the others.

I have spent a few 100 but never more than $400 (give or take) on shoes. I have had amazing luck finding specific pairs, heavily discounted, one season late at the outlets or other sales.

I thrift alot and buy alot of vintage, so I usually don't spend very much per item :ninja: The most expensive vintage item was around 100 bucks for a Lanvin lambskin jacket.

I have a pair of Dolce and Gabbana jeans that were marked over 1000 bucks- but they were a freebie from a photo-shoot ;) I could never spend that much on jeans- it would pay my rent for a few months . . .

Can you post a picture of them (and maybe the Lanvin jacket)? If not, could you please describe them? :flower:

I think I have pics of the jacket on my computer, but my camera broke  so I can't take any of the jeans, but I'll try to describe them. They're pretty low-waisted, and the denim is the kind with a sort of slub weave (vertical lines in the fabric?) . The denim is pretty thick, but softened by some very rough processing which produced holes and abrasions that were zig-zagged stitched and then some were re-torn and stitched again. I have the ad somewhere from the shoot, but I don't have a scanner. I'll post pics of the jacket, though when I have a few minutes to find them :flower:

ABout $800 on an LV Vernis Pappilion (lavender) bag, I re-sold it on ebay for about $725

Why did you re-sell it? Didn't u like it?

My navy blue, Armani seersucker blazer.
$750 CAD.
But considering how much I wear it, I would've paid ten times that price.
It goes with absolutely anything.

i bought a really gorgeous suit, all up it was about $600 AD...but for an individual piece i once spent $390 on a gorgeous skirt. totally worth it...and i justify spending that much money on something...both those items combined probably make up what the rest of my wardrobe is worth, so u kno...

My two cents on the Chanel_Girl issue - if anyone has a problem with her, please send her a PM. There is no need to make it a board issue ;) We all have our opinions, and we're all entitled to them, and there have been comments made before - but when it comes down to it, there is no need to make such a big deal out of things. If she wants to post pictures she will, if she doesn't want to and you still have an issue with it - send her a PM. Thanks guys :flower:

yeah that's true-someone once had something to say to me about my so-called style a few months ago and they posted it in front of the whole board. I replied but I was like, "ok, a personal message would have been enough" and i'm quite suprised this person wouldn't have known better. So probably is best to do exactly as belowen said.

360cad on a pair of miu miu jeans :P
still feeling guilty since it wasn't on sale when i bought it

the most I ever spent was on a Y's Yohji Yamamoto suit (a little more than $1000 forgot the exact price) and matching trousers (about $500). I really needed a suit because my black romeo gigli blazer and emporio armani trousers (which I've been wearing for the past 5 or so years) didn't fit any more. Fortunately I don't spend that much normally on clothes because I have a lot of pieces in my wardrobe that came as hand me downs from my dad (my parents are huge Yohji fanatics...they put me on to him). There was a while years ago when he bought a lot of clothes but never wore them, and they don't fit him now so they're practically brand new!

my parents used to be in garment manufacturing back in hong kong...overseeing production of clothes, buying/selling textiles and fabrics, stuff like that. They semi-retired during my high school years to look after this condition I was diagnosed with, and basically got out of the business. My mom's a financial planner now and my dad is looking for new business ventures in China.

ah...so they are truly fashion people..

and it would appear that you are too now.. ^_^

this condition sounds pretty serious ...i take it things are under control now...i hope... :flower:

heh I wouldn't say I'm that much of a fashion person...definitely not on the level of my parents, I'm still trying to refine my style and finding out what looks good on me/suits my personality. After I graduate from college and obtain some financial independence I will be though :P

thanks for the concern...the condition is a neurological/behavioral disorder so it's not fully under control and I don't know if it ever will be, but the medications have kind of put a lid on it. I hope it'll fade away as I get older though.

well you sound like one of us...so cheers!... ^_^ :flower:

you guys are so funny. most expensive item i've bought was a safari jacket from rive gauche. i had just enough credit (and brian, the sales guy was just cute enough) to sway me. and i'm still paying it off to this day  even though it's on yoox.com for hundreds less :( i will never buy anything not-on-sale anymore (unless swayed by another accented sales assistant :innocent:)
