i was wondering... the hair style of which you pin your bangs back and it creates a "poof," is this trend out, or is it still wearable. example- such as the hair style lily is wearing below.

I think it's still cute. I didn't know it was a trend.. I thought it was just a basic hairstyle like the pony tail or braids..

OUT!!! everyone does it where i live. they do variations with little bobby pins and criss cross them to make an X. ughhh it was cute when a couple people did it years ago but its played out now. i call it a hump, one of my friends calls it the speed bump. its just annoying to see every girl with a long tunic top, wide belt around her hips, gauchos (ewwie), cowboy boots, a sparkly hobo, and her hair like this.

Out.

I think it's cute in other variations like Reese Witherspoon in Walk The Line. But when it's up in a pony tail it's definetly out.

I think that it is still very cute. it is a great way to pin your hair back and still look put together and sophisticated. It's a great hair do that can transition from the office to night time fun.

You are absolutely right! :flower:

sweet_x3: I saw this hairstyle in hungarian Elle March '06 so i'm not sure if it's in or out.. but who cares if it suits you and it doesn't look like you are trying too hard. ^_^ Sometimes i also wear my bangs like that but i make smaller "poof".

Yeah, I didn't ever realize it was a trend either... I've been wearing it for years. But I do think it looks less 'trendy' if worn down and just pinning up your bangs.

Perhaps it was Paris Hilton that made the pony style overly trendy.

A trend? I wouldn't call it a trend. Like ponytails, or something... no matter if they say they're "big" this season, I mean, it's a ponytail... it's hair...

I love the bit of poof. It just looks best with my face structure, so I'll always do it that was as an option.

agh i friggin' hate it. I wore it a year ago, before it even became mainstream, more like a rocabilly look, and now it's all over the hobo wearing sl*t heads...

I love it - I have a high forehead and straight, almost lank hair so that extra bit of volume works wonders. Mind you, I wouldn't be doing a *huge* poof.

I (attempt to) rock the poof at night too:

I think it can be done in a good or bad way. It can make a round face look taller. Is this what we call a pompadour?

I'm actually confused about how to do it, which is why I searched for this thread. I'm the lamest person ever with hair. Any instructions?

I think it looks good on her:
