The Row - The All-Things The Row Thread

oh my! The triangle bra. Sorry but I don't need a cashmere triangle bra for $300  What a bizarre item for them to make. I can actually seen it worn as outerwear (over a skinny tanktop or something, and under a leather jacket) and it would be so soft! But really? A cashmere triangle bra?!

^ I know.... it's a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I would much rather buy a t-shirt for about the same price. :innocent:

btw, in the last article from NYtimes about mka, they reveal that although at the beginning they counted with a designer (Danielle Sherman or smething similar, childhood friend), now they design themselves the collection... (and probably ashley is more committed)

I think that they learnt and now they simply repeated the idea, cause the line hasnt changed too much since the beginning, they keep it simple and basic, in a word: timeless (I like it).

EDIT: I DONT KNOW WHY IT HAS DOUBLE-POSTED! SORRY!

Actually it really has changed tremendously since the begining. It went from being tee shirts and leggings to a complete collection with coats, jackets, suiting, shirting, even (as we recently discovered) undergarments. I commend Ashley for getting rid of the co-designer and focusing on it herself. I am sure she still works with sketchers, pattern makers etc. So in that essence she does not really design anything, but at least all of the ideas are uniquely hers.

^I know they have enlarge the number of items they do but the idea is still the same, they follow similar patterns... not a big changue

for those of you who are living in germany:
yesterday i saw this leather jacket of the row at "the corner" at savignyplatz in berlin - the prize is 2.2250 € - don't know if they also have other clothes by tr - the store was already closed...:(

photos: myself

hmmm, they could have pinned the label in so we cant see it dangling off the mannequin

pink,
thanks for the picture. would be interesting to know what other pieces they have in stock :)

gosh i cannot wait to go see some of these pieces! i wonder if the leather pants are available this season..?

yes they will be available this spring. and according to leyla, in a variety of colors. :buzz:

i really love that leather jacket. it looks like one ashley had before she started the row.

i read that it is what she modeled the row piece after...

fashionispoison...they have the leather pants at barneys in sf...

I know it's been mentioned before, but just in case it changed - I'm going to Paris this weekend and i'd love to know where the Row is sold, was it at the Bon Marche Rive gauche 24, rue de Sèvres? this also confsuses as me as I always think of the Bon Marche as a supermarket :)
I am surprised not to see The Row sold in Amsterdam (that I have seen).. people are quite trendy here!
:)

I was going to say that skirt looks very A McQueen not the Row and then I realise it actually was :) great window shot, I love that jacket

so i have a little problem...

i've literally only worn my Row t-shirt for a total of about 6 times (it's the silk/modal blend), and i just put it on and i noticed that it's pilling HORRIBLY in the inside & outside (worse in the inside)!! what should i do?! are all the blends like this?! will dry-cleaning help?!

HELP!

^Have you dry-cleaned it before? How have you laundered it? I have dry-cleaned all of my pieces and have not had any problems.

2200€? At that pricepoint I would much rather buy a leather jacket from Rick Owens or Balenciaga at a slightly lower price and with more design depth than some random ruching around the zipper.

doug,
the double layer long sleeve tee in particular does that and its not very nice, i agree :(
is it that one you are talking about?
