The Row - The All-Things The Row Thread

I would say they are in designer’s prime ages, even younger than the likes of JW Anderson/Matthieu etc. I hope their success (style wise) will go even further.

Sara looks good!

The Row is over. Hard to believe such an inconsequential house lasted two decades. Alongside Balenciaga, it was the last hurrah of power-dressing irony-$1k cotton tees posing as profundity. Nothing here is timeless; it’s trendwear with the details erased.

That crinkled frumpy skirt with a tee is so carrie bradshaw millennialcore I cant stand looking at it.

And the influencer lady looks like a tired lonely executive, not someone who makes me want anything she’s wearing. Those NY granny with bangles looks read 00s, not now. Precisely though. This look is worn out.

I think also when people called it grandma they were missing that NYC grandmas were dressing like this in 2007. I lived on west broadway and prince street then and loose Donna Karan suiting - eileen fisher, anne fontaine with bangles and a precious handbag was the look for the granny crowd. I think everyone wore pashminas. Seeing young people still dressing like my old friend and neighbor Paulina (a goddess) is crazy work.

I just saw a hammered gold bangle from the row. I particularly remember hammered gold jewelery being the must have among the granny crowd. They loved Gurhan and I forgot the other brands.

^ Why should we care about Londoners? Are they the center of this world or sth? And comparing it to Max Mara is also questionable, I mean ppl can hate The Row or anything related to them but comparing it to a brand that has no relation in terms of aesthetics and design ethos is ridiculous.

The Row cares as they have a nice store there out of the five physical boutiques in select locations lol

Also after paris its nr 2 most visited in europe cities

1. Paris, France – 50 Million Annual Visitors

2. London, United Kingdom — 40 Million Annual Visitors

Milan nr 8 after Rome nr 3

So yes people care :-)

They’ve been around since 2007, their clothes always has that Yohji meet Jil Sander meet Donna Karan since the very beginning, they don’t even follow that quiet luxury trend. She’s elevating London/Europe people that they are more subtle and wiser than Americans when she has no idea about the brand. Arrogant and Ignorant at best.

She actually makes a point that there are more scandinavian types brands doing this stuff for while now in europe therefore it has less of a impact as something radical new. It's not arrogant or ignorant argument she made.

It's not a secret that there is differences in US average taste and preference and European ones!!! it's nothing to get upset about.

US only established itself 250 years ago while European civilization is roughly 7,000 years old so logicly has more culture just the way it is usa brought us the iphone (ideas taken from every put into one product) and europe give us Ferrari (and original authentic style :-) 🤷‍♀️ whats the problem lol.

^ Sure, but the thing is the attitude of the video is very "pick-me-Londoners", like "I'm not buying stuff for flexing like Americans" etc.

99 %of online commenters are annoying in voice or tone i can agree its the style that works on social not my choice blame the mass....yet this does not change the message when it has some merit to it ...i think in a forum its more important to focus on the message or the concept said then so much into how likeable the person is saying it.

if not the conversation are like x or ig flat in substance..shade is fun but it should not blind the one's ability to see the real subject matter.

I have never understood why they chose "The Row" as a name. Every time I see it, this comes to my mind:

According to Lyst Q3 results it is on everyone’s minds. Clocked in at #4. I’m most surprised at YSL at #1 though, I thought they weren’t doing as well.

You think Chanel bought a stake in The Row if it was bleeding money :)
