ick i hope not:angry:

Just saw pics of a Misshapes party with Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson:

Forgive me but I thought misshapes was for cool, artsy, rebellious people who didn't subscribe to the pop culture conformity that people like Simpson and Wentz represent, but I could be wrong...:(

I don't get it, every time I see misshapes pics some new pop tart like Duff or Hilton are there...can someone anyone explain this???:innocent:

The MisShapes have said it themsleves...there is a certain irony in what they do. This is why you hear them playing The Sounds and then playing Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've been gone"...Its about taking a piss out of pop culture.

But if you're posing with Hilton and Duff it doesn't look like you're "taking the piss out of pop culture", it looks like you're sucking up to it

Well it could be that Paris or Duff sucking up to them.

the cobrasnakes supposed to be in toronto for that music fest:D

i don't even think they're trying to be all that ironic:
i think people forget that 90 percent of these scene (misshapes) kids represent the summit of the limp wristed, H & M necklace toting, gigantic loser. or theyre just super gay. no, but its important to remember that most of these kids are actually 16. and any 16 year old can spend five minutes on the internet or at a club and figure out that cloak is 'dope' ...the problem is theyre not actually socially/cognitively developed enough to have the personality to support their conclusions. theyre just mental serfs. i've hung out with some of these misshapes kids and while they dress quite sharp or whatever the second they open their mouth it's like "jesus christ -- die with some dignity." i don't consider someone talking for 3 hours about how it takes them a months worth of moons to straighten their hair or how not enough people at the show are wearing skinny jeans: cool, artsy, or rebellious. just pathetic and weak. ashlees simpson and wentz are actually perfect examples of what a lot of scene kids represent: The Mall.

doktor_avalanche, I think I love you (for saying that). :D

I second that motion! I have to spend 6 hours a day with countless wannabe scene/emo kids and it's just lame at this point. They all look like clones, and usually have zero personality.

i agree. seems like a lot of those kids are real airheads with nothing to talk about but vain things.. but hey are some real people left in the scene crowd. look at us! ;)

Just wondering how real can you be while in the scene. Half the time people are just acting. Anyway I think they all have pretty good fashion sense...
