The September Issue : A Vogue / Anna Wintour Documentary

I saw it tonight at a special screening. I honestly wasn't expecting that much w/all the hype. Grace is amazing... she's really incredible

^^ What I meant was if no torrent was available and the only available download is through paying... I'll be willing to do so!

Aw i love Grace, in few reviews i read they said she steals the movie. That's fantastic you got to see it already though.

Hey MissMagAddict can you make a review please!? Did HAMISH BOWLES appear in that documentary!? He's still a part of US VOGUE right!?

^I think I saw him in the trailer :flower:

edit: never mind, he's not in the trailer.

‘Vogue’ September Issue Falls Flat

The fashion industry has been abuzz for months about the upcoming documentary release, The September Issue, which follows Vogue editrix Anna Wintour, her cohorts, and her hordes of minions as they put together the magazine’s most coveted issue—its annual September installment. But according to Forbes, the issue itself, on which the film is (and arguably lives are) staked, falls short ... literally. The upcoming Vogue September issue boasts the least number of ad pages in years.

According to the NY Post, “Vogue’s biggest September issue ever was in 2007, when it ran an 840-page total issue with 727 ad pages. Last year, it slipped to 607 ad pages in September.” This year: the magazine has only been able to claim “we’ll have over 400 pages of advertising.” Dodai Stewart at Jezebel penned an interesting piece last week arguing why exactly the magazine might be slipping. The most plausible theory of her five: it’s stale. Vogue’s approach has long revolved around presenting an image of fashion and lifestyle that is both aspirational and exclusive, at least in its underpinnings. Neither translates well to today’s economic climate, not to mention to increasingly educated and critical consumers. That said, if the trailer for The September Issue is any indication of Vogue’s staying power, there’s hope yet.

^ Still, the September issue is an establishment in its own right. Of course figures will have to alter: Vogue does reflect the world that we are living in after all (even though it seems very elitist and only relevant for the very few lucky ones in the society)...

That said, the fashion world is suffering, and so will Vogue for a couple of months to come.

The DVD's due the 14th of September in the UK according to Vogue's Daily News today. And appearing in limited cinemas on the 11th. Which I'm pretty sure will mean one or two in London and that'll be it!

I hope the dvd can be purchased here... and if anyone has found a "tried and tested" torrent, pls. do share... :))

^I'm sure you will be able to purchase it on the internet ....

Don't you have (or just even know) amazon ?

on my side i hadn't found any torrent.
maybe fashion people aren't really into these things ....
