Caroline Winberg as Veronica Guerin
Veronica Guerin was a hard-hitting reporter for the Sunday Independent in Ireland. where she wrote about criminals. She used nicknames for underworld figures to avoid Irish libel laws. When she began to cover drug dealers, she received numerous death threats. In 1995, she was shot in the leg while at home. Even after this attack, Veronica still went after the drug dealers and criminals to get to the bottom of the story.
On June 26, 1996, when Guerin was sitting in her red Opel Calibra at an intersection outside Dublin, one of two men sitting on a motorcycle beside her car fatally shot her five times. Guerin's murder caused outrage and was called "an attack on democracy". The following criminal investigation led to over 150 arrests and a hunt against Irish organised criminal gangs. Although she died, Veronica's determination and drive changed the country.

Gisele- Wow! I never really knew anything about Bonnie and Clyde, but your description was interesting and fun to read. The picture really reminds me of film images I've seen of Bonnie and Clyde. Overall, I think the picture is good, but Gisele's face doesn't look so flattered here.
Erin- I never knew about Karen Blixen either! I really liked reading about her love for Africa and I can really see it in the picture. You can get a sense of the fact that's she's a fairly sophisticated woman in an unknown land, but she looks ready for action!
Eugenia- At first, I was wondering why Audrey wasn't smiling but then I read your description...behind the beautiful Audrey we all knew, there was sadness and pain
which your picture does a great job of illustrating. After reading about all the troubles in Audrey's life, I have really come to respect and admire her more.
Mariacarla- Wow... great picture! I can definitely see Edie's defiance but pain underneath it. I love all the colors in it too. I knew that Edie was troubled, but your description gave me a closer look into her life.
Iselin- Your description was very interesting and fun to read.. I never really knew much about Marlene Dietrich. I think your picture really captures the glamourous side to Marlene that a lot of people know... Iselin just has an elegant, non-chalant look to her that seems very Marlene.
Freja- I don't think I have to go see the Marie Antoinette movie anymore I really like this Freja picture because while it shows the elegant and glamourous Marie, it also gives you a sense of what she was really feeling when she was the Queen of France. The mood and atmosphere in this picture is great.
Querelle- I really like how you had Querelle be a man in this! Very unexpected. I love Elliott Smith but he was a really troubled guy and while your picture decipts the "robot hands", I think I would have liked this picture more if we could really see Querelle's face and get a sense of what she's feeling.
Isabeli- The Anne Frank story is very said The reason why you chose the picture you did makes sense because Isabeli looks both mad and afraid in it...and I think Anne was afraid of the Nazis but also somewhat mad because of her situation and because the persecution of the Jews. I think I would have liked to see a little more fear though.
Caroline- I really liked reading your description. Veronica was such a courageous and influential woman! Caroline here looks determined but maybe a little too sexy to be Veronica, though.

doutzen- i really like this pic! there's motion in it but it's not taking up the whole picture. isadora's dramaticism is really evident here and doutzen has that confident, creative look on here face so i think this really works. i liked reading about isadora also.
Doutzen-Excellent Picture...I love the pose and the simplicity of the backround...Doutzen really stands out here...She looks more than just the sexy model we all know her as

When I made up this challenge I was going to put not to do marie, just because I think it’s a really difficult person to represent. For me, this entry falls a little flat..your description shows so much and talks about so many different sides and emotions (decadence, luxury, frustration, ecstasy) that I’m not sure if there is a picture that could show that much. I commend you for trying, but this doesn’t work entirely for me

There were way too many things to read in this, but after I absorbed everything this was really amazing. The fact that you chose a guy is very daring but I really think you pulled it off..this is very interesting!
