This was the first picture I had ever seen of Caroline; it was before I was really interested in the fashion industry, and my friend, who was utterly obsessed with Caroline at the time, sent it to me over email. I remember thinking that she looked so amazing, and most importantly, that I really wanted her hair. Instantly I was hooked, and when I started exploring TFS later that year, I was incredibly excited when I found her thread. (Plus, look at that body! ;D)

This is the first editorial picture I have seen of Isabeli and it has been one of my favourite one ever. I remember I kept staring at it for a very long time when I first saw it. I was captivated by the pose and the way the lighting in the picture flatters her face and bone structure. She perfectly pulls of the references to old hollywood actressess. I have only just discovered models and Snejana took me interest straight away. She has such a distinctive look! Some people say she has 'dead eyes' or she is an 'ice queen' but these things are what make me love her!
I chose this photo because it was one of the first i saw of Snejana and it captured my attention straight away - i can't put my finger on what it is about Snejana and this picture - its the pose, the clothes, everything. But mostly its her eyes that have me intrigued.​

I had like Ai for a long time, maybe it's because of her ability to look cool and bewitching no matter what awkward outfit she's put in, or maybe it's because we both share similar heritage which makes me endear to her that bit more. I cannot remember a specific point when I fell in "love" with her, it had always been a continuous process. So when I started out searching for "my favourite photo", I had wanted to find one of Ai with a captivating facial expression, fantastic lighting generated by 300 mega-watt light bulbs that catch and emphasise her razor-sharp cheekbones just in the right way, and she's in an edgy and inconceivable pose with her right leg twisted over her head and her left arm bent behind her back. That type of "edgy" picture that everyone could relate to. But somewhere on my search, I stumbled onto this picture. The moment I saw it, I knew it'd be my favourite picture. But is it the "my favourite picture" that everyone could relate to that would get me through this round? Then I realised that that didn't matter, for everything about this picture was already perfect. The lighting, although not generated by half of Scotland's power stations, is natural and beautiful. The vividness of the colours is mesmerizing, especially pure blue of the sky. And Ai, like always, is looking calm and collected, and she pulls off the tricky high-low combination of YSL and bape effortlessly. This picture might strike you as being just boring the first time you see it, but once you look at it a second time, you too will be captivated by its endearing symplicity. And what picture could stand out more from a sea of bending over backwards than one that is refreshingly uncomplicated? ​

The first picture I saw of Doutzen Kroes was the picture that made me instantly like her. This isn't the exact picture I first saw of Doutzen Kroes but it is from the same show. The first time I saw Doutzen Kroes was a head shot of her from the Versace F/W 2005 RTW show in my August 2005 issue of Vogue Australia. When I first saw the picture I was just taken away by the complete and utter beauty of Doutzen Kroes. It my opinion she has one of the most perfect faces I have ever seen. I think Doutzen Kroes is a very natural beauty and she epitomises classic beauty. I think she would be considered beauty in nearly every era and historial period. Some people may find such beauty boring but I don't think many women possess the sort of breathtaking beauty and perfect, classic features that Doutzen Kroes does. The feautres of Doutzen Kroes that really drew me in are her beautiful blue eyes and full lips. Also, who could go past her beautiful smile! I think Doutzen Kroes' perfect facial features provides her with great versatility. This is demonstarted not only in her editorial work but also her runway work. Not many models can move easily and successfully from couture to Victoria's Secret! It is Doutzen Kroes' versatility and astonishing beauty that has made her one of my favourite models.

Why I Chose Her​

I remember the first time I saw Karen. It was a VH1/Vogue awards rerun from many years ago that I saw around 2000, when I first became interested in fashion. They showed a model with a severe red bob and said she was the model of the moment. I thought she looked weird, then did not think anything of it until many years later, when I started reading my sister's Vogue. I first saw this picture and thought "wow". At this point, I had heard of Karen before and seen her before, and she was already a supermodel, but did not know anything about her. This editorial made her stand out. While most models stared blankly in pictures, Karen smiled and beamed. I was immediately a fan. She wasn't just a mannequin, she had personality.​

That's Jeisa from JR Duran's photography book published in 2003. It was the first photo that completely convinced me how truly dazzling Jeisa is. Everytime I see that photo of Jeisa, I fall in love with it more and more. It's something that I'd want to go back to and still not get tired of seeing it repeatedly. The photo, set in a restaurant, complete with the drink (iced tea?) and the mustard sauce (LOL) makes it very human and gives me the feeling that she's not just a supermodel who walks on the runway and dresses in high style fashion. She's very much alive and no matter where she may be, she has this overwhelming beauty.
