I really wish I had a chance to watch that Ferrer v.s. Dolgopolov match. (Had to follow it through the app) Looks like it was a fantastic match.

Feel like it was kind of a prime opportunity for Dolgo to try and go deeper at a slam, but he kind of blew it at the end. Was rather disappointed, not that I don't appreciate Ferrer.

Fingers crossed for Kvitova or Robson or Sloane or anyone to win this thing - just not Serena. Sorry but just want to see a new narrative! It's boring to watch Serena rout opponent after opponent and am not really a fan of her playing style, even though her serve is definitely something else!

I understand the need for something new, but Serena has to win. She's playing like a super saiyan and it's amazing to see how easily she clears world class players out her way. I am hoping for match that she doesn't win in the first 2 sets though

it's an interesting situation,i must say...certainly there are players worthy of giving serena trouble even in just her half of the draw.....she has lisicki next who played phenomenally well in the second and third sets. i just wonder though about their nerve in the end....that's the issue more than anything. which is a quality i do appreciate about serena. i actually have become rather fond of serena's game or evolution of her game since working with patrick....she's become a lot more versatile...more patient as a player. i can't take her mouth sometimes but she's really something on the court.

i just hope kvitova holds up her end of the bargain being the highest seed left in that section. i really would love to see these two in the final. last year they played a great match in the QF(unfortunate circumstance for petra as serena was lower ranked)in fact was against petra whom i feel serves as the catalyst for serena's turn-around last summer. she said before and after that against her she would have to lift her game against. and petra played even stronger earlier this year at doha....came within a couple games of beating her. i just think right now of anyone, kvitova just has that game to compete with serena. serena said after that match in doha that she didn't think with the way she hits and times her shots anybody could have countered her.

Definitely a wasted opportunity by Dolgopolov. I couldn't watch the match, but was following the score on my phone and after he took that third set 6-2, I actually thought he'd have a chance. Alas, he seemed to have disappeared the following two sets. Was he playing badly or did Ferrer just really elevate his game?

I hate Serena. I never root for her, and when I do, she loses against Lisicki. I'm sorry but I can't stand that girl.

Bit of both? :(

SHOCKED! Serena is out, Lisicki played an amazing game.

Happy for Sloane, I'm really counting on her to make the final. I believe she has a great chance against Bartoli.

New Champions for Wimbledon!

YAY, Serena is out. lol At least this will make the next few days interesting. I'm hoping for more upsets this week too. Last week we had Azarenka, Sharapova, Nadal and Federer. Serena is the first upset to start this week. Lets hope Novak and Murray are soon to follow.

thank heavens big mouth serena followed big mouth sharapova....really serves them right,if you ask me.

and what a chance for two champs to nab a second major or a first for aga, sloane and sabine.

and thrilled too for kirsten flipkens today as well. a lot emotion from her after moving on to her first QF. she's been through a lot the the past year or so with the blood clots to being told by the belgian federation they were no longer supporting her when she returned. since then it's given her a newfound belief in herself(never mind unyielding support from kim clijsters) and she's played the best tennis of her career so this is certainly fitting.

My walls crumbled this morning. Upset of my life. Lisicki played an amazing game, but I'm disappointed in Serena for not making waste of her. It's an interesting turn of events, but I don't care for anyone left.

to tell you the truth,i'm really glad to finally see a break-up in that serena-maria-vika tedious stranglehold. i think the prospects of potentially seeing a first time champ or two players who might finally add that elusive second trophy quite exciting.

From the ones still in it on the women's side, I'm pulling for Radwanska. Lisicki would make a nice winner too, especially after having defeated Serena. So basically, whoever survives from that Semi-Final is my dog in this fight. Don't like any of the girls from the other half.

What a lovely match from Li Na and Radwanska! Such a mix of everything, and great grit from both ladies too.

MyNameIs - I am with you; Sabine or Aggy for the win! That's who I'd like to see.

you know, with the way flipkens played today i wouldn't be surprised if she shocked everybody. she served phenomenally well and was really connecting with that forehand and as usual using all her variety in impeccable fashion. for as heartbroken as i am for petra(and she did sort of choke away her last service game but generally kirsten was playing more consistently at a high level),i'm pretty thrilled for kirsten too. it's been a tough road for her but it's been inspiring watching how much she's come along since returning.

and to be honest aga played a great match...it was tough but i think she won the mind game today. it's nice though to see how improved li na has become on all the surfaces now thanks to her work with carlos.

and sabine,i expected probably a little drop in her level coming off that big win yesterday and probably a lot of resistance from kanepi but she went out there and did everything right. those drop shots were really effective. sad though that our commentators on espn today pretty much treated kanepi like a nobody....utter disrespect. that to me was an impressive win for sabine because kanepi is always dangerous when she's in good form and healthy.
