All I see now are shorter trench coats, mid-thigh length. I have a longer trench coat that's about 15 years old, in great condition, classic khaki, with epaulets. The belt is long lost...do you think if I removed the belt loops it would look okay? Or are the traditional knee-length trench coats not as stylish anymore?
I saw some really cute trenches at Target, all of them the shorter length. I will probably pick one up in a light tan or khaki. But is my long trench still an option? I haven't worn it in years since I lost the belt as I loved the cinched look but now that I'm seeing the shorter ones sans belts I'm thinking of resurrecting it.
I've been lurking for some time now, btw, and I have picked up so much useful information just by reading here. This place is a treasure trove!![]()
I'm also full of doubts, Caffeinated ! I admit I looove trenches , but on the street I hardly ever see anyone looking good wearing one. If you are ever slightly overweight or have a big bust, you look stocky. If you are small and thin, a trench swamps you. Besides, trench and spring raincoats are something for the over 50ies where I live. Especially in pastel colours, vanilla or light blue, knee-length, no belt. Of course, if you choose a trench with a belt you have to be very tall and slim or it will optically cut your figure in two blobs, and will accentuate your backside.
