I just hope they don't have Elena pining away for Stefan (or depressed) for too long -- her strength as a heroine has always been that she isn't so dependent on a guy like Bella or Sookie.

^ yea, i'm pretty sure matt was never really relevant, other than being caroline's boyfriend for the first few episodes. regarding the stefan vs. damon dilemma.. i don't think the writers will really leave her with either of them for too long. she'll probably be going back and forth for now, like this coming season it'll start with delena while stefan is gone with klaus, then i'm sure when he returns it'll be stelena

tbh I think most of us will know what's going to happen, but
on the other hand, the show has been developing really well in season 2,
so I'd except some major surprises in season 3. I don't really have any examples of thoughts or guesses, but I have a feeling it will be a lot more different from now on

lol yeah, i'm pretty into this series. not only that, but several of my friends are as well so during the season we schedule regular coffee dates to discuss theories/spoilers in-depth

speaking of which... it has been confirmed that bonnie & alaric will both be a lot more front and centre for season 3. i have no idea why alaric, but bonnie will sort of be stepping in for damon as trying to stop the bromance from developing between stefan & klaus. which reminds me.. klaus seems to be so keen on stefan not only because of his ripper ways, but ever since the werewolf bite most spoilers are hinting that klaus is making a hybrid out of stefan somehow. and lastly for bonnie, she will also have a lot of work with working out a possible relationship with jeremy, what with his special powers now enabling him to now see ex girlfriends vickie&anna

On the morning of Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) 18th birthday, Caroline (Candice Accola) is busy planning a party, but Elena is focused on searching for any clues that might help her discover where Stefan (Paul Wesley) is. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is also searching for Stefan, while trying to protect Elena and keep her from doing anything that would draw Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) attention. Meanwhile, Klaus and Stefan are busy trailing a werewolf named Ray Sutton (guest star David Gallagher). Now working at the Mystic Grill along with Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is struggling to understand why he keeps seeing the ghosts of Vicki (guest star Kayla Ewell) and Anna (guest star Malese Jow) since he was brought back to life by Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) magic. Meanwhile, Alaric (Matt Davis) does his best to watch over Elena and Jeremy, while dealing with his grief over Jenna’s death.
