The Vampire Diaries

I was having True Blood withdrawals, so I tried to watch this show...I thought it was bad.

It would actually be somewhat watchable without the bad music and bad acting from the supporting cast members.

Ian Somerholder is sexy and is the best thing about the show. :D

I also found it interesting that The Vampire Diaries was written before Buffy, The Sookie Stackhouse series, and twilight. It's the one that started it all...after Anne Rice and Bram Stocker, of course.

^I only saw about 1 and 1/2 episodes. Why? Is it one of those shows that gets better as it progresses? :p

^ I also watch it, but I don't really like it. I think it gets a bit better, but IMO I still don't think it's a good one. Of course, you can watch only to see Ian Somerholder. lol

Yes it definitely does!! I didn't really like the first few episodes either I thought they were slow, they didn't 'WOW' me in anyway but the latter half of the season is excellent and now i'm hooked.

I agree! The acting was bad, the pilot and the first episodes were not exactly interesting but I kept watching because I read the books and because of Ian :brows:. But the acting got better and the story got really good imo.
And now I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the second season :p.

It gets sooooo much better after the 5th episode, that's what I've been telling anyone who stopped watching after the first couple of episodes. That's when the action kicks in and you're super addicted to t. The first 4 episodes are like Twilight (sorry Twilight fans), it's just sooo teen drama but it gets A LOT better after the 5th episode. I definitely recommend you keep watching. :flower:

Just shot one of the most intense scenes w/ @iansomerhalder. Wow. Season 2 premiere is going to blow you all away!

Full synopsis of Season 2, Episode 1, "The Return"!

Spoilers:
KATHERINE HAS RETURNED WITH A VENGEANCE --Picking up on the same night as last season’s finale, Elena (Nina Dobrev) arrives home to a nightmare as she discovers Uncle John’s and Jeremy’s fate. At the hospital, Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) is comforted by Matt (Zach Roering), Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) while she waits to hear if Caroline (Candice Accola) will survive the car accident. After a confusing conversation with Elena about the night’s events, Damon is the first to realize that Katherine (also played by Nina Dobrev) has returned. Katherine’s arrival sends Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon on a path to find out what she wants, why she’s back, and how much of a threat she is to the people they love. Meanwhile, still reeling from his father’s death, Tyler (Michael Trevino) is surprised when his charming and mysterious uncle, Mason Lockwood (guest star Taylor Kinney, “Trauma”), arrives to console the family.
