The point is to make good TV and tbh, I think we (almost) all love drama. Maybe not in our lives, but in books/TV/Movies for sure. (At least I do )

I just watched the two last episodes from season 2 again. I hoped it would have helped me waiting for thursday, but this week seems to last for ever.

oh my goodness you guys, stop making tvd so literal by comparing damon to the typical abusive boyfriend. it's tv, not reality, thus every rule will be broken purely for the sake of entertainment. and if you're so mad about the direction the writers are going to take the show, then please spare us your complaints in this thread and just stop watching.

i'm sure there are other shows that will feature cookie-cutter husbands that you clearly are seeking to watch

Lord knows, I hate what Chuck has developed into but on a scale of cruelty against humanity, I'm pretty sure Damon's actions rank higher. Of course, I do know that people will then defend him with, but he's a vampire. Yeah so? And you're human, presumably , so how can people say that it's "his nature" and that's makes it "okay". It is STILL cruelty against humans.

The new sneak peak is hilarious. There he goes, taunting her about her short human life. If only I wasn't already pissed about him FORCING her to become a vampire...

That's funny to see how many people Stephan is ready to sacrifice in order to save his brother. Not sure he would have done this in order to save Jenna or somebody else...

I am pretty sure that the whole season is going to deal about Stephan getting more and more cruel, Damon feeling more and more guilty about it (and more and more in love with Elena), and Elena falling in love with Damon. (I'm not sure that anything will happen before half of the season though...)

Anyway, who knows? I hope we'll be surprised! (exactly like in the 1st season finale, it was pure genious!)

I agree.

But if the other options is Damon... Who kills and maims with no excuse... Then I consider Stefan the lesser evil, though I by no means care for him or Stelena.

Underwhelmed by Klaus so far. Frankly, Klaric was scarier. But I do like him far better than crybaby Damon.

But it's kinda sad that you think people have to like either one of the male leads (or rather main "pairings" but surely you don't really mean that since people can like characters, without their pairings?) - and completely forgets about the female lead - to watch the show...

And other than the leads, Katherine, Caroline, Tyler, Alaric, Jenna, John, Liz, Elijah and Klaus are all characters I enjoy to watch. The show IS more than their leads.

I'm aware that you meant it in jest, but it seemed like one of those things with a little bit of truth in anyways. Frankly, a lot of people seem to have the view that either Salvatore is the most important factor of the show while Elena is an afterthought.

I'm not sure Elena and Damon will work...everyone thought Sookie and Eric would be epic on True Blood, but they waited too long and it was botched. That moment at the end of season 1 where D kissed Katherine thinking it was Elena was perfect because it came at the right moment.

But it would have to be set up really well to revisit.
