As more 90s influences surface, I think gel is finding its way back into the shows too.
I can't say I don't find it slightly tempting, though I'm not sure I want to leave my natural-hair era just yet.

This look is soo much fun... A narrow shirt with extra-long sleeves, a long velvet skirt (slit up the side), some clompy shoes and a ton of hair wax, and suddenly I'm living the '90s better than I did the first time around... Gel definitely suffices, but it dries and flakes more than wax, which would be my suggestion. And one of those wide-toothed plastic combs that, when used, seperates the hair just so...

* Though I swear, it's just a coincidence that this post and my current avatar paint me as a grunge-obsessive. (I don't even like Nirvana.)

^ha, you summed it up so well.. add dark red, burnt brown and black to the look and you're good to go.
.. it didn't take much creativity for A. Wang afterall.
I remember combining gel with some pretty good oil that my sister discovered (though some chola friend I would guess!) for that permanently wet-looking touch (not baby oil!).. I'm surprised my hair was less damaged than it is now, but then hair with that much oil didn't need to be ironed :innocent:.
