Oh you're right. 19th C has those bustles doesn't it:lol:
And I have never seen a lolita in a bustle!

But I have seen the 19th C sailor dresses at EGL shops, like Metamorphose:flower: I guess they get inspiration from the children's clothing in this period. Anyway, I don't think I'm so keen with EGL... I have some influence from people who wear it, but I like more this other fashion, those things you can find at Jane Marple:heart: (where some gothic lolitas also shop)

Nice to have someone here who likes this too *o*
actually..there are some lolis that wear bustle..more like pannier with more ruff on the back and less ruff on the front

i think the lolita fashion is more based on the dolls..they were probably the only "female" that showed any leg at those time :D and the mary jane kinda shoes...curly hair etc.

it's nice to know guys like loli too  ..since people tell me most guys fear lolitas

ok... so I took my inspiration from Paris in all of the old movies. Where all anyone ever did was sit in Cafes and smoke out of long cigarette holders. I realize that its not total reality...but whatever.

For Fabrics I was kind of thinking a very soft crinoline with some sort of silk for the bodice...and I thought that I would stick to black for colours....slimming and elegant.

 s

For this dress, I was inspired by contemporary Tibetan art. Alot of what I have found deals with the beauty and spirituality of Buddhism, and I wanted to express some of that aesthetic in a very simple way by having the dress be one very thin layer of soft silk organza. This painting by Tsewang Tashi moved my very much so I wanted to have this image silk-screened onto the dress. The dress would be the same color as the background of the photo, but trasnparent enough to see the woman's body, but the face would cover most of the front except for the breasts, which would be slightly seen through the top of the dress.

^sucks i cant see your drawing =T

the colors in the painting looks wonderful
the way the artist captured the feel and aura of the boy is stunning..and the colors worked really well with subject

I dont think I will be able to do this one...too busy...cant wait to see who Dior Couture picks ^_^

Im halfway through mine...I might post it later on today...but go ahead with the winner if you come online Dior. Ive had too much time already

Good job everyone! I haven't had much time to do one this week but next week I'll be entering a design.

here's mine...
The country I suppose is Greece.
It's the Minoan civilisation that was there on its islands (ancient times).

If anyone can recognise the model, please say so (*o*);

I just noticed the colour, with the birds head...I think you can be the next McQueen :magic: I love it...whos the model though...:ermm:

Thanks so much for the comments!!:p
Yes JR1, there are actually 3 birds' heads on there. There are two on the collar and one as a print for the shirt. As for the hat, it's just a gold wing with a cap that is supposed to resemble grass/moss. The boots are also "made of" bird feathers (of the same bird on the collar).

I've another version of this with brighter colours, but I felt this version was more "together." The other one still looked like cut-outs.

I do like McQueen:heart: One of my favourite collections was the 2003 fw one, where the models walk into a square space filled with snow and dirty things. And then there was that model who went through a ventilation area (?) up at the ceiling and the wind was blowing through her cape. (*o*)
