my design is inspired by the Tehuana Dress (pirst pic aaron posted) the top is soft fabric with flowers decoration, the skirt is made of white perforated fabric, a lot of fabric, the same as the hair and the hair accesories, the shoes are decorated with the same Print as the Top, and the accesories are tipical mexican jewelry the same as the bag.

FINALLY! heres my entry
i was inspired by the Tehuana Pic, and the whole Mariachi look, reference below.
The dress is all embroidered in black with a floral design,, but instead of color wanted to do it in black to kind of give it the look of something rather than a mexican costume, something you could actually wear without being a walking advertising of mexico
. BUT i did wanted to make a statement by putting a brooch with a mexican flair. i put a bigger and better version of the brooch bc the one in the dress is really tiny.

Idvnicole: that dress is soo chic, love the parrots and the feathers, the shoes are really pretty, the whole look is amazing, (not so mexican thou)
perfect10: I loved that you investigated about mexico, I think it is nice for you ti know, but let me tell you you got the American Idea of mexico, not the mexican one, Piñatas here in mexico are really different, anyway back to the dress, I love how you tried to incorporate the piñata "texture" and LOVE the sombrero, it is soo glamorous
rasp_berry: your dress is SOOO funny haha you really inspired in an important part of mexico hahahha anyway let me tell you that even though you are the inpiration for my designs, I have to tell you that your dress is not really weareble hahaha the idea is cool but for a party!
anyway I lvoe YOU! 
whatever2: that thing about the sombreros is true hahaha here in mexico we use more cowboy hats, but not for everyday wear LOL anyway I like that you incorporated the cambaya(thats the name of that fabric) in the top, and the boots are WONDERFUL!
NaaaN: The look you designed is soo pretty, its kinda haute couture hahaha, LOved that the shoes are printed with flowers, but dont like the head thing alot hahaha anyway you are good at this, you should NoT stop drawing!

I love how you made a completely different dress out of the tehuana one without taking out the mexican characteritics I was really impressed by that! now Please give us a challenge to keep this going! CONGRATS!!!

and aaron, great reviews! I dont think I only got the american view of mexico, probably the whole worlds
and know I just realised... since USA rules the world in movies and such as (and we are not happy with it, are we
), maybe almost the whole world got the American view (except for the other designers in this thread

So, heres the deal. Since The Dark Knight movie is everywhere Id love to see you guys designing something inspired by the joker!! BUT heres the catch, it has to be for children!
youll have to design the whole outfit and do the styling as well.
a) an outfit
b) shoes
c) two extra accesories such as: headbands, hats, backpacks etc
Deadline will be on July the 20th.
I leave you some pics for inspiration, but feel free to use any version of the joker from any Batman movie.
Good luck and Im looking forward to see those designs for cute mini jokers!

just from that first picture i have the outfit made up in my mind. do we have to make one for a boy and girl ? or one of our choosens?
oh gosh, what a challenge! I never made or designed anything for a child before, this will be intresting
