sure :), as long as it is still proper to be worn when everyone else is wearing conventional formal outfit (long party dress, tuxedo, etc).

and if its a costume party, you can also make a costume, but i guess a "formal" costume party is very rare... maybe mask party will be more likely?

& i believe there are no dumb questions at all ;), i'd be more than glad to answer if you have more questions.

heres my deeesiign!

I was really excited about designing something based on food. i loove food, eating its like my maind activity, seriously.heres the three images i was inspired by.

First, id like to say i dont like chocolate, i really really dont. im weird, i know, i get that a looot. but when i was thinking about what would be a nice meal to choose i couldnt think about anything else but chocolate cake, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate boxes, i mean really! chocolate was stuck in my head. so what the hell, its not like im going to eat the dress right?

The main features i took from the pics were, obviously color. i wanted a dark chocolate shade to make it ellegant rather than 70s looking. the shoulder ruffle reminded me of the type of decoration they always put on top of chocolates and the cake picture. the shape of the dress is pretty fitted and fancy looking kind of like a chocolate river from head to toe.actually fromt he shoulder to thetail. i thought about me in a Vienna ballroom. , i would definitely wear this, and actually i have my hair like that ha ha. I put a sequined fabric bc i wanted it to be really shiny, elegant and because chocolates are often wrapped with metallic papers and kinda makes the chocolate stand out more.
since the sequined fabric its already a lot, i wanted to do it a little bit more simple on the accesories. the shoes are very classic, a manolo shape with the louboutin platform kick and the clutch has a little diamond buckle and embroidered fabric.

good luck everyone! waiting to see your yummy designs!

i already posted but looking back i dont think i stated what kind of character would be wearing my design. i mean, the doll already has my hair, and its something i would DEFINITELY wear (if i only lived in a castle with balls every nigh, or to the oscars or maybe to drink a glass of milk with a red velvet cake on my bed) so the dress is for ME. i like tall, sleek and expensive haha. that would define my taste the best i guess. the dress silhouette makes you look taller instantly (im 5'7 but extra inches wouldnt hurt), and it makes you look like you have a mermaid-esque body. The one shoulder thing i like. i love showing my shoulders i think its really sexy yet ellegant. and also put just one little earring, bc i like to keep my jewerly to the minimum. my hair its like in t,he doll, same cut, same color. and it sure looks expensive, even if it isnt, it looks like it is, isnt that whats important? i also like high heels with thin heels and small bags. i know you guys dont know me but im sure if you did youd say im a lot like the dress, dont think im always dressed like that, of course not, but if i had the chance i would def wear it. if a future event is worth enought to wear this kind of dress (hope so) ill make it and ill let you know how it went. so, character: me =)

daniellat, its veeeery pretttyyy <3 <3

let's wait for others' designs.. :)

SOORRY for not posting! hahahaha I really want to get in this but Ive been so busy and on vacation hahahha I promise to post ASAP!;)

I just painted my designs... wainting for the paint to dry  and yes, it is two... I wasn't sure about is the first one I made really counted... Its a design for myself, what I want to wear when I visit one of my dreammen :innocent:

And I am so so sorry that it took so long time, but my computer crashed about a week ago and I had a harsh time dealing with that (emotionally, so many lost files) and getting a new computer and try to restart my old one to save as much as possible!!!

MAD-HATTER TEA-PARTY

the occasion: I always wanted to visit the madhatter (I use to play such games when I was kid, drinking tea and all) so this game seemd to be as close I could get.
not so formal, but plenty of fun!

the girl: Mona, aka perfect10, corny redhead that seems to be born with high heels and always overdo her outfits. Like to mixing extrem colours and patterns (it is possible that she, I mean I, wear flowers, polkadots and stripes at the same time).
Constantly talking about her rabbit Loppan.

The dress: The dress isn't exactly inspired by a dish, but by tea.
- The upper-collar is by chiffong, light blue and are supposed to be the steam. From the knob at the left thers a long scraves to wrap around the shoulders.
- The fabric is batik-coloured brownish silk. And the black tealeaves are printed, in a grungy kind of style
- The 2 under-skirts are in white, ended with a gold ribbon, and with several embroided red flowers.
The underskirts are inspired by old English china.

PUDDING DRESS
the girl: I made this for my RPG-charcter Madra Louge. She is a shy and timid young woman that lives in the magical upperclass.

the occasion: Christmaseve-get-together, Madra and her friends use to met to exchange gifts.

The dress: inspired by english christmaspudding.
GingerbreadChristmasPudding.jpg

(whatscookingamerica.net)

- The fabric is in darkbrown velvet.
- Shape pretty much inspred by the pudding shape
- Red shimmering stone are attached to the skirt
- The white at the ending are supposed to be icing sugar and are made of white silk.
