I dont know the Industrial Revolution, so I'm not sure if this is right. But I thought of an old industrial worker. This girl is wearing a fitted denim dress with overall straps. Her sheer striped shirt has a high collar and she tops the outfit off with a striped engineer hat. Her shoes are tough, black worker boots.

are there any more entries? :ermm:

well we have until this sunday...so I guess they're coming along...anything along the lines of emma_leigh or JR1 is basically what I'm looking for, something that's has the theme in the clothing or inspired by what they would wear is great...^_^

Is that all of the entries?
I'd be happy to wait for anyone if they're working on something....:D

Ok...Ready for the Reviews???

Soo.. JRI, I love this dress, very conceptual and yet very Couture at the same time, I can really distinguish the very sheer and delicate material used for the bottom part...great design with the wheels..beautiful!:flower:

emma_leigh, I love how you've taken the fashion of the industrial age and incorporated that into your design, which I think is very thoughtful!^_^

Both designs were very good...and I appreciate you guys taking time out to design and draw them!

JR1!!!
Your design was great at incorporating the elements of the industrial age and yet kept it to where it wasn't an eyesore like many of today's crazy fashion...congrats!!!:flower::flower::flower:

JR1 can't get to a computer for a while, so someone else will have to post a new theme:)

As the collections have just ended in New York and are about to start in Europe, it's time for you to design your own look for
Spring/Summer 07
What will the models be sporting down your runway this week?

Wow a virtual free-for-all ;) Are there any rules / etc. - e.g. how many pieces do we submit, is there a specified theme, do we base our design on what we expect to be trendy next season, or can we just do any design we'd like, etc.

Sorry that wasn't very specific. It should be one piece that would illustrate your collection if you were to show at fashion week. Does that make any sense?

Here's my entry!

A bit of explanation is due. My design is based heavily on my predictions for the direction of S/S 2007 (both before and after NYFW) plus a little injection of romanticism. The semi-halter dress hangs from bronze-coloured (think Dolce&Gabban FW 2006) cotton braids which suspend the dress using three braids. The dress is made of light breezy chiffon and is available in pure white or wheat. The skirt is made in such a way that the end has a tendency to be slightly heavier, thus allowing the rest of it to "inflate" slightly and create a subtle bubble-shaped illusion (the skirt is, in truth, A-line).
The shoes are strappy sandals. The straps are bronze-coloured braids just like those found on the dress and go around the feet, ankle, and shin in a manner similar to ancient Greek or Roman sandals. These strappy sandals, however, come with four-inch heels.

ha d trouble getting on here but it is in an attachement. I haven't been in a competition in a while. It was hard to find this thread.

Hey, please could you guys wait for my entry?
I've started it already but I can't get it finished until this week-end (college has been treating me really mean so far - all the teachers are having a competition to see how much work they can shove down our throats before we go mental  )
So if that's ok...

OK, I give up. I was going down the road of a 4 outfit collection and had lots of crazy ideas buzzing, but school's been so hectic that I just don't have the time to finish it anymore... so I only have 2, which I'll scan and roughly explain tomorrow. Sorry about the wait guys.

This is actually an old work, but I thought it looks appropriate for spring. :D
