wonderful entries, everyone:p
here comes the judging then...

dizzydi at first i couldn't relate the costume to the character, as the drawing seemed almost halloween-like:heart: and then i saw you made it for a woman and changed the proportions and placement of the belt and so on--very clever design! i think this one thing i love about design, just the whole 'reinventing'

vogue_addiction i imagine it would have been even greater if it was in colour but i do see the 'fawn spots'. very cute:lucky: the loose sleeves and tighter bodice/skirt with the hat reminds me so much of robin hood and i couldn't help think of a hunter dressed the same way... that would be a wonderful idea, i think. nice to have taken from the whole mood and all characters of the film

borjacapella i can definitely see minnie in the leggings and shoes. i did feel the 'robe' part confused the design a bit in that minnie's fashion sense is much more girly, but i guess it is interesting if you were you thinking a frilly betsy-johnson-esque dress is unwearable. then i can understand your motives:lol: also, i like how you used the colours of the photo as your palette

mirrra i was so glad you chose to do the print design! and the illustration as always is very stylish and beautiful. i love that you had taken the design idea from something as simple (and maybe non-fashion like) as your avatar, which looks like it might be some kind of abstract metal sculpture? i love the composition so much--it is very inspiring and i'm sure you would be great in fashion design:D

finally, bottlejunk i thought it was a very fashionable take on the characters of the movie. nice to see you adjusting the collar and loosening the sleeves... it was only unclear to me what is happening in the crotch area. the baggy pants and slanted hat are a nice touch

and so, the winner is...

mirrra!!
it was very difficult to choose between one to three that i was thinking of. anyway i thought it is one of the most wearable of all the designs, right next to bottlejunk and borjacapella's designs. the concept is visibly clear and the design of the dress is something i have never really seen before. i just thought the print was quite unusual. particularly the rippling effect under the stripes would be interesting to see on a real garment (if you chose it to be a pattern or actual texture). so, i felt you should win because it is the most 'new' to me
all of the designs were designed very wonderfully. i was so glad to see how you designed it, like moving the collar or hemline to new places or changing the silhouette of the sleeves and so on. excellent job!!!

wow, thanks gius!
it' actually made of paper[the avatar object]
about new theme

it's AIR
it could be abstract or not, connected with all associations "air" brings to you, like gravity[or lack of] breath, flying, etc. any interpretations of the word from it's origin to consequences are welcome:)

and a question: is it ok to have time for submitting untill Chrismas?:flower:

^ that should be fine [infact great, i can do mine in the holidays :p] - and air, such a beautiful theme!! im thinking designing mine in the style of junya watanabe...plenty of time to think :woot:

im excited ^^

it is very ok!! this way i'll be able to do this after exams week [ :S but :) ]
congrats mirrra and thank you gius for the great reviews

I just stumbled apon this thread and I have to say what a great idea for a game this is!

Is it all right if I join?

you're very welcome to, dbear

and i think that is a great idea and nice to have the judging for the holidays too:p

Ok I'll go first.

Air I wanted something flowy, and breezy, so that when the wind was blowing it would move with it.

oh i havent played for so long =)
i might do this one

air i see...very interesting..very abstract

I lied. My drawings didn't get posted last night because I didn't have time to finish them.

Anyways.

Here they are now. I drew a front and a side view, just so you could get a better idea of the shape of the dress. I also outlined all of my lines in black pen. Normally I wouldn't, but my scanner sucks at picking up pencil lines. Please excuse some of the odd colouring and such, that would be the fault of my scanner.

When I think of air, the first thought that comes to mind is that its very cold, sharp, and harsh. (too many winters in the Midwest are to thank for that.) So, I decided to draw a dress using only blue and silver, as both are cool colours, and make everything very angular, and, well, pointy. It's an asymmetrical trapeze dress. :D
