Wow
Can't beleive I have missed this thread. Some of you guys have very good skills. Keep it up.

Please don't judge until tomorrow! I'm having some technical problems with my camera right now! (I promise it'll be done by Sunday, though!)

I doubt that I will be able to enter, so go ahead without me. Unless somehow I manage to, then I will be happy. :)

here's mine:

sleeveless, British navy-style jacket
white capri pants
light blue stripped sash
tattoo printed body suit (like from Dior SS 04)
pink leather buckle shoes
purple Napoleon-style hat

The retorhic: It's inspired by pirates (obviously), but more specifically, a pirate ship. Instead of doing something abstract in any way, I decided to go completely literal. Starting at the top, the model wears a headdress of two sails and a crow's nest. They are all perch haphazardly, as if a storm had blown them into pieces. The emphasis of the ensemble is the brown bodice. Instead of a traditional, form-fitting piece, it is actually two pieces joined at an angle, turning the bosom into a prow of a pirate ship. It is adorned by one of those ornamental statues. Her skirt is a three-layer affair, with one layer of coins sandwiched between two layers of floaty, frothy fabric in sea-green and blue degradé representing water. Her flaxen shawl is a fine silk variation of the rope ladders found on a pirate ship.

Wonderful entries everyone! :D I'll be judging tommorow! SO if anyone is still interested in joining.. you still have 24 hours to finish your submit your entries!

:D

I tried to find new ways to think pirates, so as my inspiration I used pirates best friend, the parrot

the reviews are in!!!

Okay… I’m not really good with words. So bear with me and my bland reviews.

Final fashion
I love that you went “historical” on this one. I really love the top and the details that you put in it. I would love to see it in color though (or maybe you could just describe the colors.)I really can imagine it in deep, dark colors and with gold details or silver. Anyway, your design really looks great! I personally love the shorts (I would love to have something like that) It’s looking a bit androgynous… and I love it!

Oh! I also love how you draw!

Khoipond
I cannot tell you how much I love the colors of this one. I love the details that you put in this one! (the prints… gasp!! Wonderful!) Your design is piratey-chic! I love that Nautical-stripey capris! I can really see this in a runway. Very high fashion, chic and creative!

Dior_Couture1245
I adore your creation. I love the combination of colors and the body suit! Very creative! It may seem too over the top, but I think it is apt for this theme. :D I can definitely see this on the runway!

I would love to have that sleeveless navy jacket thing!

Ilaughead
This is really great! I love that you created something that I wouldn’t have thing about myself! I really think that you are very creative! I really love you’re idea! You’re wonderful explanation made me really “feel” your design.

I’m all out of words *whew* you guys are all very talented! You all made it hard for me to pick the winner… but then again, I have to!

So here it goes…

Congratulations!!!!

Urd! I only found your entry just now. o_o I'm so sorry! :(

Anyway, I really love your design! I really love the idea behind it!

I'm sorry I missed your entry! :(

Thanks Leeyone for the wonderful review and well done to everyone who entered :flower:

Cheers to Dior_Couture1245, your entry was incredible!

Thanks so much everyone! I had a lot of fun with the Pirate theme! Cheers to everyone else, great entries!

For your next challenge...
get ready to get INSPIRED GALLIANO STYLE!

Galliano is known for his cross cultural, cross period references all mashed up into one coherent collection (Empress Josephine/ Edie Sedgwick, Poiret/ Elvis Presley, Ancient Egypt/ Avedon and Penn, French Revolution/ S&M).

What you'll do in this challenge is pick one theme from numbers 1-5 and pair it with a theme from A-E and design an outfit that is inspired by the two themes you picked. The winner will be chosen for his/ her ability to create an interesting design in which the two themes are aparent and combined seamlessly. (by the way, you don't have to design with the extravagance of Galliano, you're perfectly welcome to do so, though, if you wish)

THEMES: (pick one from 1-5 and combine it with one from A-E)

1. Bollywood
2. Medieval
3. Disco
4. Queen Elizabeth I
5. Andy Warhol

A. Madonna/ 1980's
B. 1950's Housewife
C. Aztec Warrior
D. Astronaut
E. Gangsta/ Hip-Hop street style

Have fun:D ! I might even submit an entry...I've inspired myself:lol: !

As far as time goes? A week, two weeks? What sounds reasonable to everyone?
