You scored a Michael Kors Dress
Great
But you won't be wearing it?
Great
I tried to check out the same Allegra Hicks dress 8 times
I really would have loved that
But the page kept crashing because people were checking out meaningless items
Only
YOU
Get a Michael Kors dress you're not even interested in
To sell it at a profit?
I would have thought from TFS there would be some pleasurable, happy buys
But perhaps it was just people wanting a profit
Oh sweetheart
That's pretty rubbish
I understand you're frustrated, but taking it out on me is completely inappopriate. I never thought I would have to justify to anyone why I bought something from a £1 designer sale.
As I'm in Australia, the time difference meant that the sale started during my afternoon (which was in my favor), but I devoted at least 5 hours to the sale, from refreshing my email every minute, to checking the forums (tpf, vogue) for any news, finding links to items on the site pre-sale that were already marked down to £1, refreshing those pages constantly incase the sale had started but my email was late (which was the case, so good thing I was refreshing), then the absolute craziness of the site crashing when the sale actually started.
There were two items I was particulary after - an absolutely gorgeous Chloe dress, and a Burberry dress. I tried far more than 8 times to get into their pages and once I finally did - and I even got so close as to get to my checkout with the Burberry one - they were sold out. I even postponed my birthday dinner to two hours later because I was so determined to make all this time worthwhile and buy something.
When I finally got a page to work, I clicked into the MK dress, and by that point, when I saw it was available, I was so flustered that without even thinking about it, I put it into my cart and checked out. Many others did this exact thing. I was SO excited that I had managed to buy the dress, but unforunately after spending time considering it properly, I really don't know if I'd wear it - the size is very small, which may be a problem, and I don't think the cut (sleeves particulary) would be flattering on my body. I will obviously decide what I'm going to do once I get the chance to try it on. But if it doesn't fit nor look good, I don't see the point of keeping it at the back of my wardrode collecting dust, when someone else may want it?
I obviously don't plan to sell it at a high price! Nor was I thinking Ebay: I was going to see if any of my friends wanted to buy it, or would swap for it. So your insinuation that I only bought something from this sale to gain a profit is completely and utterly wrong. You make me out to be some evil person who buys stock in bulk from sales and resells it. Unlike most people on this forum, I've never even
once sold an item of clothing on ebay before.
That, and your insinuation that I contributed to the site crashing by looking at 'meaningless' items. I could just as well blame YOU for causing the site to crash which resulted in me not being able to get the Chloe or Burberry dress.
I consider myself very lucky to have been able to purchase a dress from this sale, even with my efforts. My sister put in the same amount of effort and hours, but walked away with nothing.
