Wow, that's surprising (but good!) - I am about to order some shoes from Australia and wasn't sure if I should because I wondered whether they'd get caught up in a backlog as there haven't been regular passenger flights for about 4 days now in the UK!

Mine was dispatched Friday so fingers crossed for Monday.

sooo disappointed i got nothing from the sale, is it true they only had roughly 750 items on offer for all the people who registered??

I just got my dress! That was fast!:o And the packaging is really nice.^_^

^Wow that's cute, mine says dispatched today!

liberty33r1b I think that's true yeah, they said they had over 1000 items but that included different sizes so probably 750 individual items yeah!

I got a phone call from someone from The Outnet on Sunday telling me they'd send my item out to the wrong address?! But they'd noticed the mistake, so had recalled the item, and it would be returning to them, where it would be re-sent out to me within five days.

So someone else, god knows who, almost ended up with my item!

I ended up getting this Aminaka Wilmont dress. I'm not familiar with this designer but I loved it. I tried getting a RO dress but i was too late and mind you I was at the site on TIME. I set up my BB for my emails, with my laptop running with 2 windows, my email and the site itself. That sale was an adrenaline rush!

I got an e-mail through yesterday giving me free postage on anything else I ordered, due to the frustration many RSVP'd members suffered on the day of the £1 sale!

If you buy the May issue of Instyle UK there's also a 20% discount in there.

I didn't get the shipping email, but here's the email/code for those who didn't either.

I gave that code last week in the "good coupons" thread, the code for the 20% discount is InStyleExtra20. :flower:

Educo your dress is gogeous, you're so lucky.

I got this Missoni blouse in the £1 sale...

But it got 'lost in transit'! I was so sad after the luck I had in getting it, but they kindly offered me another item for £1! They gave me a choice of three other items and I chose this Matthew Williamson blouse:

I feel very lucky. Wondering how the other one got conveniently lost though...!

The Outnet spoke to Grazia today and answered a lot of questions about the £1 sale..

Last week’s bumper £1 Outnet sale caused quite a commotion amongst our own Grazia Daily users and the wider community of online fashion fans. While we received word from a some very satisfied customers with their bargain purchases, our Facebook, Twitter and comment sections were overwhelmed by readers venting their frustration at not being able to log on – despite having pre-registered.

Tempers were running so high in fact that we got in touch with the Outnet.com themselves, with your queries. They replied today, and here’s what they said...

LustyMuppet described her morning of trying.

“This was such a scam! If it was an invite only event and they had advance notice of the numbers wanting access, it seems disgraceful not to have sufficient servers. I was awake at 5am and the website was impossible to enter. Once I got there, the pages crashed with each click and pretty much everything had been sold even though the sale had only recently started. It was impossible to add anything to my basket and I was signed out of my account over twenty times! I think this was just a nice little exercise for The Outnet (and so net-a-porter too) to capture data and email addresses from us. Which is such a shame. I will be writing a letter of complaint”.

A spokesperson for theOutnet.com responded:

“The phenomenal response to our first birthday sale has been exciting and something we don’t take for granted. While we were prepared for the number of people who wanted to attend our sale, the speed at which the orders came through - up to 9 orders a secondoverwhelmedour servers and caused many of you to have difficulty accessing the website. However, the event was a sell out and thousands were able to walk away with unbelievable £1 bargains. We take on board feedback so that we continue offering amazing bargain opportunities. We want to thank everyone for being part of our first year celebrations and assure you that we try hard to always put customers first.”

nckeens complained

“Definitely something not right... In their £1 sale a Chloe Irina bag showed as sold out. It's now available for sale again in an upcoming flash sale!!!”

A spokesperson for theOutnet.com responded:

“The Chloé Irina chain bag that appeared in our first birthday sale sold out. The one advertised for our forthcoming Going Going Gone sale is the same style but it is a different size - it's a medium sized version.”

Lastly we asked them to tell us how many items were actually sold for £1:

A spokesperson for theOutnet.com responded:
“We never disclose exact figures but can confirm that thousands of items were available in our first birthday sale and sold for £1.”

I think the servers crashing was pretty silly in all honesty, particularly with the RSVP thing. I don't understand the 9 orders a second thing, surely they'd expect people to go to a sale and buy stuff?

I like both those blouses Maddie1902, and it's good they gave you a choice of 3 - I think I actually prefer the blouse you got in the end.

here is a quick picture, not a full shot, but i will take one in the morning.

The dress will need a few alterations though. There is a plunging neckline to my belly button that is not going to fly for me. So I'm going to sew that up to a more comfortable neckline. Overall, the dress is gorgeous!

My item came today, the Rick Owens waistcoat. I got it for a friend of mine, and I have to say it's one of the oddest things going. There's these very odd back silk pannels which when you put it on sort of make it look like you're wearing a jetpack.. Certainly one of the odder pieces in the sale I'm feeling!

It seems so unfair that some people got to bag 2 or more items in the birthday sale and others missed out completely! Congrats to the people who managed to get anything- must have super quick fingers ;]

I don't think people did bag two items, those I think bagged more than two had one of the items canceled - that's my understanding, anyway.

Oh, really?! I hadn't heard about that. I just saw people posting on the Outnets facebook saying what they managed to buy in the £1 sale and some people listed a few items they'd won. I was just thinking oh my god, I'd be over the moon to even have got one of those skimpy designer thongs, let a lone more than one full item! Maybe they had multiple accounts and had them shipped to different addresses? It's a little sad if the outnet did cancel multiple wins but, at the same time, I think it's also a lot more fair and a good move. It would give a good impression and help put off people who were intending to buy only to make a quick buck!

Also, in regards to Maddie1902s' item that got "lost in transit"- it's possibly they accidently over-sold the item and didn't want to admit it! Still, I think that was really nice of them to give you a choice of some other items. They could so easily have dismissed your win and left you empty handed! And I personally think your Matthew Williamson blouse is just as nice, so congrats!

You were able to buy multiple items if you used multiple accounts I believe. I think that's how some people must have more than one item. If you bought more than one from the same account it cancelled everyone but the first, original order. I don't think that applied to separate accounts though. Easy to do I suppose, if you wanted to try, just log in from two accounts at the same time. It's a shame things like that happen, but I suppose it's just something we have to face happens a lot! E-bay's to big of a draw.
