This is one of the best NY collections! It is really good for Theyskens to "lose" the Nina Ricci pressure to incorporate flou/frou for the socialite set. The cut is just lovely, just impeccable. I'd wear everything here! I'd be buying a lot of Theory next SS. . Theyskens at his minimal best - minimal without losing the aesthetics in shape, in cut, in proportion, in everything. Compared to the others, he made neutrals look like couture, this collection is a cut above everything out there.
I love this
I love this approach
It feels like you can learn a lot about fashion just looking at those one by one, how to work on shapes, colours, how some specific contrasts can transform casual into effortless elegance... Very subtle and unpretentious
and I'd love to wear every outfit
i don't know if any of those pants will suit my body shape but they're certainly drawing me in...
maybe the crop tops aren't for me either...
but i'm loving the vibe here...
call me crazy, but i found myself skeptical that someone with such high-end fantasies could bring his vision in line with the pricepoints associated with a contemporary line...even one as ubiquitous as theory, but with this line he proved he can do just about anything he puts his mind to. this collection recalled to mind not only his recent work at nina ricci and shadows of the painter-ly elegance we saw at rochas, but this hearkens back to his early early work. i swoon over the jackets. everyone i know will hear about these jeans. but the star of this collection remains those pants. they look high-end. they make a statement. and they're so perfectly theory and olivier theyskens at once.
Wow - not sure how I missed this news. Theyskens at Theory isn't something I would immediately put together but the collection looks great and is impeccably styled.
